Hello!
We are currently using the Graco Turbo Booster in our main car but want to purchase a booster for our older (crew cab) truck and collector car that have only lap belts. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thank you!:D

Lap belts are not safe for children, with or without a booster. The horrible injuries resulting from lap-only belt use on kids are even given a name in emergency rooms, "Seatbelt Syndrome" :-(

Depending on the age and weight of your kids, there are a few safe options, including current models from Britax, Car Seat Specialty or an EZ-On vest. There are also a couple discontinued models you can sometimes find on ebay. Also see: http://www.car-safety.org/faq.html#Q8 .

It should also be noted that some smaller crew cab trucks have side-facing "Jump Seats" which are not safe for kids, and are not recommended for use with any car seat or booster.

I don't know if you can find them any more, but the Britax Laptop works with a lap belt. Here's a website that shows photos:

Hi! I was in the exact same boat as you for my twins. We bought a Britax Husky for my son, and also picked up one of the last available Britax Laptops, to hold onto for when my daughter outgrew her Roundabout.

We had purchased an older conversion van only to find all of the seats were lap-only belts & unable to be retrofitted to shoulder belts due to it being a conversion.

I bought the seats in late January of this year. Then in February we found out my husband was being transferred to Hawaii this summer, and we no longer needed, (or could we afford to ship to Hawaii) the conversion van & sold it, with the Husky, to my brother. Meanwhile, we still have a BRAND NEW, IN ORIGINAL BOX, STILL WITH TAGS ATTACHED Britax Laptop. If you would like to buy it, please let me know. I was planning on listing it on Ebay - we are trying to lighten the load before our move, if you know what I mean, and this seat is NIB, MINT, Never been taken out of the plastic in the box. (I did open the box to read the instructions to see if the seat was airline compatible (it isn't) in hopes it might actually be of use to me. It wasn't.

If interested, email me at [email protected]

Thanks! And Good Luck!
