What are your thoughts on the Mighty Tite? I have been using them in my car and they seem to make it a lot easier to get the seat good & tight. Are there risks of them breaking in crashes and becoming more dangerous than good? Thanks!

I was in a minor rear end collision and the insurance is replacing the seats. I am wondering if they will replace these for me as well since the manufacturer recommends they be replaced. Does anyone know about this?

They get a big thumbs down...and here's why http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/SeatBeltTite.aspx

It would be cheaper, and safer, to just go visit a tech and learn the little tips and tricks we know for getting seats in properly by themselves http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/nhtsa/whatis/regions/index.cfm?fitting=yes

Also, ask about getting all the seatbelts replaced that were used during the crash. It's not often done, but it IS recommended they be replaced.

I hope no one was hurt! I know even a low speed rearender can leave necks sore for months :(

Thanks for the article Julie! Also, I was able to find a car seat tech really close by so I will have them checked once I finally go and buy it.
