Hello, I have a question...when should a child go from their convertible car seat to a booster? My daughter will be 3 next month and she is 38 inches tall and 34 1/2 lbs. We have a Britax Roundabout in one car and a Britax Expressway in our other. She says that they are uncomfortable and she wants a "Big Girl Seat." I wonder if this is because she sees her older cousins in a booster style seat. I don't know if a booster is as safe as a convertible is for her right now... any help is appreciated. Thank you! :)

She fits in those seats till she's 40 pounds, or her shoulders are right above the top slots or her ears peek above the top of the seatback. I'd keep her in them as LONG as possible, or look at a harnessed "combo" seat (I listed several in my other post, the Platinum Cargo is my favorite).
Kids should really be in 5-pt harnessed seats as long as you can keep them there, it's really the safest choice until at the very least, age 4 preferably longer as long as the seat is used correctly.
If her unhappiness with her seats is more than a passing phase, how about getting a cute new cover or 2? www.britaxusa.com has "popsicle" now, which might make her happy with her seat http://www.britaxusa.com/shopping.cfm?action=ShowProduct&pro_id=5DCE25CE-5FB7-45DE-9887B676890AA134&id=32F3CDEE-BAB3-4B8D-97423CDD74CA10FC&pcid=A2DA204B-7EA2-4769-ACD80071DB2203CE&pid=6DF8B039-B6D7-4461-A597367E0C5B9295&pro_opt_id=20E7BD1B-EA6F-416B-90DBE8E46D8A4B93&step=2

Thanks, JoolsPlus2! You helped me, too, as we're in that same position.
Happy New Year!
