Compass B500 booster ??

My daughter has outgrown her Roundabout, so it's time for a new booster seat. She turns 4 in May, is 39.5 inches tall, and weighs 36 lbs. And we live in an 8-80 state.

In my research for a new booster I came across the Compass B500 booster and I'm totally intrigued! It looks like it would be perfect for us because we often fly to visit the grandparents. I'd really like having a booster that we can fold up and store in a carry case when we travel. But it's a seat we would also use on a daily basis, so I'd like to know that it's a safe seat. Does anyone else have any experience with this seat, or can you recommend another seat that is really good?

It's mostly recommended that kids remained harnessed till they are 40 pounds and at least 4. You are giving up some protection in moving down from a 5-pt harnessed seat to a booster, but there as yet have been no studies to actually prove it, so mostly it's an issue of maturity. Is she REALLY ready to sit properly in a booster seat for every ride?
If so, I've heard the Compass is a pretty nice seat...I like the pivoting armrests...makes buckling up easier, and the EPS foam in the headrest is a nice touch. Certainly it's terrific it's so travelable...I've always had to bring backless boosters as carryon, because bringing the back would be such a drag, then the kids always end up falling asleep in grandma's car and flopping all over the place!

You might also like to check out these crash test comparisons between harnessed and booster seats (the videos for "romans duo" and "maxi cosi rodi" are comparable to the seats you have/are considering)
