My son is only 19 months- and he is already 40 pounds.
He is grown out his roundabout. I am not dying to spend another $200+ on a Britax, but the husky seems to be the only booster option with a 5 point harness for children weighting over 40 pounds.

Does anyone know of another carseat/booster that has a 5 point harness that can accomadate a child who weights over 40 pounds?

thanks,
mom of ben and one on the way.

Here's the only one (The Nania Airway), and I believe this is currently the only place to get it. It's an OK seat...you might be a little disappointed in the quality after your RA, but it's not *terrible*...I hope the weight limit is high enough, but perhaps his weight gain will slow a bit and he won't hit 50 pounds before age 4 or so?

If you think his weight will stay very high, then the Husky might really be the safest option...or the Marathon, but it is a few more dollars and a somewhat smaller seat (it's basically a RA that goes to 65 pounds)

Burlington Coat Factory also carries it. A pretty good price too.

Nah, they don't carry them anymore. There might be one in a local store for a clearance $69, but that's it at this point.

It's really a shame that they don't...It's so hard to find anything for kids over 40 pounds :(

Is there a height limit for this seat (or the Husky, for that matter)? I have a 39-pounder who is close to the top of his current booster straps. He was three in January, but we've tried him in a belt positioner and he didn't keep in on properly at all. I'd prefer to keep him in a harness longer, especially since he reminds me to buckle him if I get anywhere close to forgetting!

The height guideline for the Husky, and it is just that a guideline because all kids are proportioned differently, is 53 inches. As with other FF car seats, the Husky is outgrown when the weight limit is reached, or the child's shoulders are above the top harness slots, or the tops of the ears are level with the top of the Husky's shell.

I don't know the height limit in inches for the Airway, but the rules for outgrowing the airway is the same as the Husky's. I believe the top slots on the Airway are 17 inches. I don't have this seat and confess to know little about it.
