We have a '85 Ford Bronco at our cabin that we use several times a month. I have a FP Safe Embrace currently, that my nearly 3 year old son is about to grow out of (he's 39 lbs). My daughter is in a FP Futura, and she's about too tall for the overhead shield/belt contraption. What boosters would work with no shoulder harnesses in the car?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Unfortunately NO boosters work without a shoulder belt :(

The good news is, there is a "drill dimple on cargo floor" and there may be instructions how to use generic anchor hardware to add a tether anchor. Ford's corporate number is 1-800-392-3673, in case you need it. I'm not exactly sure where you would get generic tether anchor hardware these days...it used to come with seats...let me see if I can find where one would get that and post back.

So, why is that good news? Well, I didn't think any cars before 1989 could have a tether anchor installed. If you have a tether anchor, you can install a Britax Husky and use that up to 80 pounds, or you can look at www.ezonpro.com at some of their harness options. Unfortunately, there'd be no head and neck support with their products, but a good harness and no head support is better than a lapbelt any day, from an injury perspective.

Anyway, hope that helps a little bit,

Thanks for the reply. I see this place sells generic tether anchor kits for $5.95:

I see no way out but to buy the Marathon or Husky. I feel that nearly three years old is still too young not to have a harness.

LOL! I went and did a search for them, and I found the same page, but forgot to post it!
