Has anyone used a car seat shade?

I just ordered one that fits right over the carseat. DD has been crying every time we get in the car because she says it is too hot! I just was curious if anyone else has ever used one, or is there anything else that works to keep the seat from getting so hot.

We have a Combi shade for our rear-facing Roundabout. I don't think it does much to keep the car seat cool though before you get in the car. I guess it could help somewhat if your car seat was in direct sun. DS hates getting in the hot car (not specifically the seat, though, just the hot car in general), so whenever I can I open the windows and air out the car a few minutes before putting him in. I use the shade mostly to block his eyes from the sun while we are driving.

I cover our seats with a regular bath sized cream colored towel. It works fine for us.
