Hi - Have been reading posts on this subject but I'm still confused. I have 2 1/2 year old twins. My son is too tall for his britax Roundabout (shoulders above straps - earlobes higher than back). He is NOT 4 yrs or 40 lbs which is the limit for using the seat. Where do I go from here? - I want the best and the safest but also something that will last. Is this the Marathon or are their other options? He's very tall and I don't want to invest in one and have him outgrow it too soon.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

For such a tall fella, you might want to look at the Husky or Wizard (www.britaxusa.com)...probably the Husky would last you longest, as it tends to fit kids to age 8 or 10 (not that you have to use it that long, but rest assured he will NOT grow out of it before he is ready for a belt positioning booster (age 4 at the minimum, 5 or 6 is better...kids get more able to sit properly in a booster, the older they get).
I say the Wizard, because the top harness position is actually a little taller than the Marathon's top slot, and if you have to fit three in the back seat, or ever need to travel by plane, you can bring the Wizard, but not the Husky.

If he's under 35 pounds (so that you'd get at least a year or so in the harness...if he's close to 40, you won't get enough time in the harness) and your budget is tighter, then a harnessed booster/combo seat is a fine choice as well. The Evenflo and Graco seats have taller top harness slots than the Roundabout, harness to 40 pounds, and become boosters later

I also wanted to post this site, so you can get a better idea of how long these seats will last. Check all the pages that mention Marathon, Wizard, and Traveller Plus (Same as Husky). This little boy is NOT little (Andrew outgrew his Roundabout at age three or so), so it'll give you an idea how your boy might fit in these seats in years to come http://pages.ivillage.com/momika/carseatphotos/id32.html
