I cannot find this info. anywhere. I have a very tall 2 1/2 year old (almost 40 inches). He is in the marathon now but I feel that he is too tall for it. Anyone know the height limits for this seat. I know he is not ready for a booster so I was thinking of moving him into the husky. Thanks!

According to the BritaxUSA.com website, it is 18 to 49 inches.

And it really does fit kids up to 49 inches...check out this page (scroll down to the second picture) http://pages.ivillage.com/momika/carseatphotos/id24.html and my dd was still rearfacing at 41 inches (link in my sig)...but she was a string bean skinny kid, lol.

The Husky is an awesome choice for such a tall kid, too, and should last you till at least age 8 (when it's 6 yo and expired anyway)...that first link has pics of the "traveller plus" which basically IS the Husky.

PS...he's not too tall for it till his shoulders are just above the top slots or till the tops of his ears are even with the top of the seatback.
Adding the "big kid foam" can make the seat seam a little bigger, too

Thanks! I am going to check where the straps are. My husband thought he had placed them in the top slots but maybe not. I would love to keep him in the Marathon for as long as possible b/c we love it.

Can you clarify which is the limiting factor on the Marathon? My 34 mo daughter (39" tall mostly in the torso, 34 lbs) has her shoulders about 1-2 inches above the top slot and has about 4 inches left between the top of her ears and the Marathon top edge.

(We're needing a second seat and are dithering between the Husky and another Marathon.)

Her shoulders are OVER the top slots already? At 39 inches? It's a little bit hard for me to imagine that, since the tops of her ears are so far below the top of the seatback....? Can you take a picture?

Julie,

I'll try. We''re off on a vacation soon so I'll try in CA where it's a bit warmer and she can have her jacket off. I'll also try to measure her seated torso length vs. her leg length so you can better understand. (You think finding the next car seat is hard? I'm also working on finding fitting diapers and researching double strollers!)

DD is long waisted, has short legs, and has a short neck like me! Poor thing! :-P

I think all those growth charts are for the "average" normally proportioned bodies so those of us with "natural variations" don't quite fit. Of course, this also explains why I have such a hard time finding clothes that fit me and can make me look decent! : - )

Thanks for the look see!

Happy Valentine's Day,

Ok, no sweat...Man, you have quite a challenge, there! Well, generally their legs start growing around this age, and *fingers crossed* hers sprout right out to match the rest of her body, and FAST!
Husky...definitely the Husky ;)

My DS #1 is 46" tall and his shoulders are over the top strap slot on the Marathon. In a pinch one day I was going to put him in DS#2's Marathon and a friend's child in his Super Elite, but both children were too tall for the Marathon.

My DS#1 grew out of his RA at 2 years & 4 months old and we went with the Super Elite (just before the Husky & Marathon came out). We have been really happy with the SE and I would highly recommend the Husky. I also like the Marathon, but if you have a tall preschooler, I think the Husky would be a better way to go.
