Hi!

I was just telling my friend my dilemma about car seat choices and we started talking about installation... He said that you are not suppose to use the latch and seat belt concurrently to secure the seat. I've never known this and always had figured that double the security was better... If this is true, I feel fortunate we haven't tested the seat in an accident and will undo the seat belt securing the seat immediately. Does anyone have feedback about this?

Thanks!

Maura

Well, I've heard some evidence that doing both might increase the chest G forces beyond the allowable limit... But the main reason not to, is because they don't say you can. Either they haven't tested it (which makes your baby the crash test dummy) or they HAVE tested it and it fails testing in someway.

Truly? One or the other is VERY safe, and there's no reason to do both :)
