Hi,

I am planning on ordering a Parkway Booster. Can anyone tell me what the fabrics feel like? Target is carrying the "Sapphire" Britax Parkway. I saw it in the store and discovered that the lighter colored fabric at the shoulder and head area is made of a coarse nylon weave fabric. It looked like it would uncomfortable and sweaty. I can't imagine resting my head on it. The model that Toys R Us carries was similar. The Marathon we have has a soft faux suede fabric. Has anyone ordered the new fall patterns and could you please describe the fabrics? Thanks, Jill

Oddly enough, my kids love the rough nylon on the BRU cover and say it is plenty soft :)

The Ivy Leage has a cottony headrest, bubbly fun is velour.

Haven't seen any of the "new" ones, though, so I'm not sure. Does the www.britaxusa.com site describe them at all?

Thanks Julie. I checked the Britax site yesterday and there is no description of the new fabrics. How hot do your BRU car seats get? We looked at them but I was concerned the black fabric would be hot in the summer.

My kiddos haven't complained, but I have a very dark tint on my minivan windows and suction cup sunshades in their side windows (Pimp my Odyssey? lol), so very little direct sunlight gets in there to heat things up. I think the nylon is a little cooler overall than the velour part (and like I said, it is kind of shocking they say the headrests are soft!), but a cottony cover wouldn't be so bad. I wonder what "Woodstock" is like, because I really like that one...and cottony on the headrest would be better than velour...but then again, their heads don't actually touch the headrest unless they are resting, so maybe velour is better?

Sorry, I'm rambling! Anyway, we've had a heap of seats and a heap of summer days and they've never complained about being hot in anything yet..so they might not be very picky kids?...I feel like I'm the one gypped sitting on my leather seats getting a sweaty back, to be honest :P.

I also must not have picky kids because they've never complained about any of their seats being too hot. I told my DH that there is no way I'm buying a car with leather. I can't stand sticking to the seat then during the winter sitting down in cotton slacks and freezing my tush off (actually, that wouldn't be bad at all! LOL) I don't think kids care about that so much.

Yeah, my DH is all about buying cars "loaded" and I prefer "bare bones"...though sometimes heated seats are truly wonderful, I'll admit! ROFL

Hi Jill,
I bought my son a Parkway from BRU when they first came out, and he hasn't complained about the fabric covering the headrest. My husband thinks that it "breathes" better than the black velour fabric covering the back and seat. Riley's fallen asleep lots of times in this seat, and always looks comfortable to me. Here's a link to the Baby Catalog of America website, with pix of the new fall patterns for the Parkway, Marathon, and Roundabout.

Thank you all for your excellent comments! I just unpacked the Woodstock Parkway I ordered from Baby Universe. It's a dark denim fabric on the lower part with a soft velvet fabric on the psychedelic part. My daughter is thrilled! Jill

Denim on the lower part! wow :) I had it pegged as a dark blue velour, lol.

Oh great, though I hope you love it! (uh, your dd, I mean...)

I saw a fabric swatch for the Parkway that had a cat print on a pink background. Does anyone remember the fabric name?
Thanks,
Marianne

I'm almost positive they didn't actually make that cover. I think it was called Purrfectly Pink, or something? One of the retailers online used that picture and called it Cougar, and someone bought Cougar and it turned out to be brown and black, and then the site changed it's picture.

Anyway, long story short, I think they passed on making that cute pink cover (and too bad, I was wanting it when I first saw it! lol)

Guess it will be the princess turbobooster then. DD is very opinionated about color and she had asked about the pink leopard print car seat, when was I ordering it, etc. Thanks
