Any opinion as to whether the new Radian is a better quality seat than the Cosco Apex 65? Right after I purchased the Apex, I saw a posting about the Radian (which I'd never heard of) and now I'm not sure which one is better!

Um.. it's definitely heavier and more 'engineered' than the Apex... it also rearfaces, so in that respect it's in a rather different category (convertible versus the Apex is a "combo" seat). It's much narrower, if you have a tight fit (three across situation). I hear the top tether can be tricky in some cars (I'm not strong on details there, unfortunately...just not enough seats out to know for sure)... definitely you'd really have to see them both to decide which would really be 'better' for your car and your child (I've seen an 8 yo sitting in it, he was under the top slots, which are quite tall, but the harness straps were too short!). The www.safeguardseat.com is also REALLY nice (top slots as tall or taller than the Husky, self-tightening LATCH straps, built in lockoffs... costs over the moon, but apparantly it's worth every penny and is 'kind of like' the apex and radian, if you are taking notes :) )

Thanks Julie...also, am I right that the Radian does not convert to a booster seat?

I am obviously not Julie, but I can tell you that the Radian does not convert to a booster.
