My 5 1/2 yo DD is petite (40", 37lbs), but her shoulders don't seem to fit in her Graco Cargo Platinum (we use it w/ the five pt harness). Is this common?

We also have a Graco Turbo Booster (w/ removable back) which she would love to use, but I am not sure she/I is ready for it. We have a Honda Oddessey w/o side airbags (they came out a few months after we brought our van ;( ). What should I do?!?!? Should I dish out for a new seat all together?

TIA.

What do you mean by dont fit? Are her shoulders above the top harness position? If yes then she must come out of the harness. If you would like to keep her in a harnessed seat for a longer period of time then let us know and we can reccomend a seat.

Thanks

I think when they added the EPS foam to the Cargos, it narrowed the seats down a bit :(.
So...I have the same car... I use a Regent and a Sunshine Kids Radian, and a Parkway (two kids, always in different seats, I'm nutty...) and we like them all, they all fit great. If she can sit fine in her Turbo, I'd stick her in the middle (like, slide the passenger side seat to the middle) and let her sit there. If she gets wiggly or can't sleep comfortably, then shop around for something else (like the Regent or Safeguardseat or Safeguard Go or Radian). My kids are 8 and 6 and still love being harnessed though (my 8 yo in the third row, particularly, as it prevents him feeling carsick on country roads).
