My son will be 5 in a month, but is rather skinny for his age. He is about 37lbs and 42" (I could be off by one or two). I need to buy 3 seats 1 me, 1 dad, & 1 grandma. My daughter is now out of an infant carrier and I am so tired of switching car seats around. So, now what do I do. I am so confused, cause I want the best, and want him in a 5pt harness as long as possible. So.. I am leaning towards the Radian and the Regent. ANY PREFERENCE out there??? Also, I drive a 1998 Toyota Camry without LATCH anchors. So I use the shoulder/lap belts to install. Now I know the Regent requires anchor use after 48 lbs, but my thing is he will most likely out grow the seat in HEIGHT first, don;t you think?? Which is safer? Which is the best fit? I tried the database and could not find either one for the Camary.

SO LOST,
Andrea

Harnessing is safER than being in a booster. Do you have top tethers in your Camry? What is his torso height? What seat is your DS using right now? Do you have a budget for the seats- total $?

We have a 1999 Camry (also no LATCH, originally no anchors either). We had the dealership install an anchor in the center behind the middle seat in the rear so we could tether our car seats. We have one Regent installed in the middle. It's a great seat with a great fit in the Camry and installs well with no recline bar using the long belt path. We also install it outboard when grandma is in town. My vote is for the Regent. It's an awesome seat.
