Looking for suggestions for strollers and backpack carriers for big and tall people. My husband is 6'5 and 240 lbs. I'm 5'11 and 155 lbs. Ours 1 year old son is 30 lbs and tall as well.

Interested in a lightweight stroller to take traveling. The first lightweight stroller we had was an old aluminum frame Kolcraft. I loved it, but it was too short for my husband. He ended up bending the handle down about a foot with the weight of his upper body because he had to bend over so much. We ended up with the stroller half of evenflo's travel system because it is tall and sturdy, but what a klunker. I really don't want to take it on the plane.

We're also looking for a backpack carrier that will accomodate a big baby and big parent.

Any suggestions?

For stroller, I recommend the Maclaren line which is good for tall parents and light-weight for travelling, yet doesn't compromise on safety, comfort and convenience. http://www.maclarenstrollers.com

As for backpack carriers, since you both are tall and your baby probably is also, I would say check the Kelty backpacks out. http://www.kelty.com (go to Kids).

Let me know if there are specific models you wish to discuss. I'll help a bit more.

Ditto the recommendation for Maclaren.

For a backpack though, I'd get the Tough Traveler Stallion.

My husband and I are the same height as you and your husband. We've done extensive "test-driving" of backpack carriers we borrowed from friends, and the tough traveler was the winner over Kelty both in child and parent comfort. It definitely isn't as cool looking as the Kelty, but it beats it out for comfort.

I'm the president of Tough Traveler, and I was glad to see The Stallion recommended for big parents (I was going to suggest it myself!) - People might also like to know that Tough Traveler still manufactures our products ourselves (in upstate NY, USA) and we often are able to modify products (such as longer belts, adjustments for arthritic hands, etc.).

My husband is tall, 6'6" and I am round and not so tall 5'5". I want a backpack carrier that we will both be comfortable with. So far only the Stallion looks like its for people as tall as my DH, but I'm wondering if it will be too big for me? Help!
