So I'm thinking ahead to DD's 3rd birthday and I would like to get her Legos for her birthday. Does anyone know the best place to get these? I'm not interested in kits, just the bulk Legos.

I saw these here, and they have free shipping on order $60 and over until the end of April. Is this a good deal?

Yes, I know! It kinda freaks me out. Three seems so OLD! :)

And we don't have Big Lots here so far as I know. :( And most discount stores seem to just have the kits, and I just want Legos.

I don't think that is as good as it sounds, I found this at Toys'R'Us online:

it is a bulk tub that has 140 pieces for $19.99. Part of the problem is that it doesn't say "Duplo" in the title so it wasn't sorted under the Duplo catagory. However you can tell Duplos because of the age range (starts at about 18 months).

We have a bulk tub like this, but we bought it in Japan (we got it for $30 and thought it was a good deal as we didn't have to pay shipping). I also bought one of the buckets that has tunnels, doors, and a ball that rolls through. Finally we got (the indespensible) base plate. Though I found recently a lap desk that has a extralarge baseplate built it - its made for Duplos...

I think you all have Big Lots...I know WoodBridge area does that was the first one I had seen...
and they had them that were not just kits...I'm almost certain because that was where I plan to get them for Ukraine and the kits I do not plan to take...

I don't know that area very well. I'll have to check that out.

Beth,

This is sort of off-topic, but I've seen lots of duplos at garage sales. It's almost garage sale season (well, in a few months)!

Also, I found that around 3 and a half, Leo started to prefer real Legos to duplos.

Thanks. I've been looking at the big consignment sales around here (a lot fo them are this month). And actually I am looking for Legos and not Duplos. I saw a bin at Target yesterday of 1000 Legos for $20, so thats not so bad. :)
