Do you think a pedal car has a lot of playing value?
He has a train table

Dori,
What kind of budget were you thinking of?
If lots of $$$ - then a trike would be great - better than a pedal car, I think - it'll last longer.
Less expensive - my 2 year old boy loves trains - so more Thomas is always great. :)
He love blocks - wood blocks. We just have square ones with letters and numbers (Melissa & Doug), but I just ordered him some unit blocks.

Also, he's crazy for trucks. His grandmother got him a Tonka dump truck ($12 or so at Target), which has been a huge hit. I also found him a Tonka tractor at the thrift store, and he's been playing with that for at least 6 months, and still isn't bored with it. He likes to push them around, or makes up a convoy of all his trucks/busses and moves them along. Too funny! :)
Mega blocks/ Duplo - whatever the brand name is. :) He's really getting into building towers with these. I think he'll be playing with these for a while.
And balls - any size, from the small felted wool ones I made for him, to a huge beach ball.
My DS loves books, too. Not really a toy, but I thought I'd throw that it.
