We're planning a trip to Mystic Seaport. Any advice?

Don't do it! Just kidding - sort of. I grew up in the area and always found the seaport horribly boring - although I have heard it's changed a lot in the last decade or so since I've been gone (and longer than that since I went to the Seaport - I avoided it like the plague once I was old enough to have a say). ANd I did like other re-enactment type place, like Plymouth Village.

Now that I've maligned the Seaport, let me say that I LOVED the aquarium and have not enjoyed any aquarium since then (unless you count Sea World as an Aquarium). If you go, and anything is the same, have your kids wear white so they "glow" under the black lights!

Anything else I remember about the area is probably out of date - I understand things have changed dramatically since Indian Bingo morphed into that huge casino whose name I never remember. And I remember being shocked when they turned the street in front of the bingo hall into a four laner with a light!

Ah, the joys of aging!
