We are headed to Chapel Hill for two weeks in August. My husband will be working during the day so I am starting to look for things that will be fun for me to do with the kiddos. Any suggestions for good parks? kid friendly attractions? restaurants? good local websites? I will have a rental car so I can do day trips, too. Any advice would be great.

Thank you!

We used to live in the Triangle area. Some nice kid-friendly attractions are:

The Museum of Live and Science in Durham
http://www.ncmls.org/index.asp
We liked the train ride and the outdoor play area.

Playspace Children museum in Raleigh
http://www.playspacemuseum.com/
It's small and can be crowded, but it's also a lot of fun.

I also saw this one online:

We've never been there.

If you have all day, you may try the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.

It's not that far away. A lot to see.

The Streets at Southpoint Mall in Durham has a nice play area for kids next to the food court. It's free.

Hope this helps.
