How do I get deals for suite in Vegas for long weekend with DS

Guys, anyone have any recommendations on how to get a suite on-strip (or even off, if we have to) in Vegas? We have alot of points at Holiday Inn, Marriot, and Hilton. The Las Vegas Hilton is a possibility for us, but it's slightly off strip. Will go without points, too. We've looked at the Alexis Park, and it's not any cheaper way off strip than staying somewhere on-strip. We love the Mirage, but we don't want to pay $400/nite for a hotel. Maybe $200/nite, tho. We need 2 rooms for sure, tho 2 bedrooms and one central room would be perfect (not expecting to find the latter reasonably priced). I'm still a militant sleep person, so DS must nap. Therefore, we don't want to stay way the hell off strip. If it's on the monorail, we'll do it.

Not willing to stay at Circus Circus. Would like to avoid the MGM. thoughts? Anyone? Anyone? Beuhler?

Our closest airport is Oakland, CA and from here, there's no cheaper deal than southwest vacations, I think it's swavacations.com. It's usually about 100 dollars cheaper than booking separately. But if you don't need air, this website has links to a lot of the "hidden" promotion pages for the casinos - there are some great prices and most of them don't require any sort of player's club card. We usually go Sunday through Tuesday, so I haven't searched for any weekend deals, but it's worth a look.

I know it may sound crazy, but the Venetian only has suites so if you can go when they might have deals, not sure though if there are two rooms in the more economical suites. I agree the Alexis Park is way out of the way...went in June and stayed at Caesars on DH's company dime...sorry I can't be of more help...I think I saw on the Travel Channel (aka the Vegas channel) that Treasure Island or was it Tropicana..one of those less glam hotels had suites resonalbly priced still close to everything.

When were you looking at going and for which days?

Like the pp said, Treasure Island is a good location for pretty reasonable prices some weekends. It's right there next to the new Wynn/Mirage/Venetian, although a suite with an actual bedroom might be too pricey. I saw one of their petite suites and it was still all one open room.

Is Bally's an option? I stayed there once and although it was not luxurious at all, having the monorail stop and the tunnel to the Paris made it OK I thought. My father in law goes there for business all the time and he's been upgraded to some pretty big suites.

Are you open to adjoining rooms instead of a suite?

Thanks, Guys. We're looking to go in the beginning of December, and if we bring DS, then we really want a suite. We're a little spoiled and want to be able to have DS have nap and bedtime in his own room so that we don't have to be silent and not have the TV on, etc. Plus, we'd like to have a fridge and nuker, tho alot of those come standard now.

We looked at the "all suite" Rio, and unfort, their standard suite, about $200/nite, is really just one huge room with a couch/table/desk in one area and the bed in another. So, that's out. We'll look at the Venetian! We actually tried to just book the Residence Inn (yeah, off strip, oh well), but they were booked the 3rd weekend!

So, we sort of re-evaluated after our friend said, DS is THREE! He's old enough to leave at Grandma's! We honestly hadn't considreed it at all. But now we're thinkin', well . . . It's our 10 year anniversary. We had to forego another country cuz of passport issues, so we're looking domestic and said no to Hawaii cuz I can barely make it an 8 hour flight, let alone a 3-year-old in a carseat. We said no to Disney for a plethora of reasons I'll spare you.

So, we're now looking at maybe Vegas just the two of us, which makes things ALOT easier.

Stop thinking and call Grandma! It's your 10 year anniversary! Go to Cirque de Soleil, eat at ridiculously expensive restaurants, and have a good time. My husband and I went and didn't even realize how much we'd been needing a trip together until we were there. HOWEVER, what happened in Vegas didn't stay in Vegas and DD#2 came along 9 months later. Just a warning! Ha ha :)

Get grammie on the phone....Vegas will be sooooo much easier without your little one and I'll be both he and grammie will have a ball and you can enjoy time with DH, stay out late and it will give you so many more options for accomadations...and take the $$$ you save by not needing a suite and head to TAO at the Venetian for lobster potstickers...(just my all time fav!)

Another option off strip is The Orleans and they have a kids drop off playzone area too with a ballpit etc. someone pointed that out to me recently!

We like staying at the Luxor. They have a huge attraction level for kids... my DS loved just playing in the area and sitting on all the motorcycle games and driving all the wheels (no money needed)! The rooms in the towers are nicer than the pyramid in my opinion and you can get adjoining rooms! from the Luxor you can take the moving walkway across to Excalibur then walk to NY, NY and the MGM. The MGM then has the monorail behind the hotels down to Bally's and you can go across to Mirage/ceasars! Just thought I would throw that out there if you hadn't considered The Luxor!

I would vote to go just the 2 of you if you feel comfortable with leaving your little guy! Our DS started staying over with Grandma at 3 and my little guy is 2.5 now and *might* stay home with Grandma if we go to Vegas for my 6 year olds Tae Kwon Do Tournament next weekend! It's hard leaving them but I bet you'll enjoy yourself more in Vegas without a kiddo in tow!

I second the suggestion for Luxor if you have to bring DS with you. We just got back last week from Vegas with 19-month-old DS in tow, and had a great time. We got a tower luxury suite (with a separate, closed-off bedroom) for about $200, including taxes. Someone else made the reservations for us, but I believe he used Expedia. Our suite was super spacious and made all the other people in our group with regular room reservations green with envy. :) I was quite pleased with the accommodations at Luxor.

This is definitely info I was looking for. Thank you so much for this Tondi & Erica, it sounds awesome. We're now booked for 2 airfares, DS staying with my parents or combo of them and good friend. But we love Vegas, and we'd consider going with DS again in an off-time. We were gonan splurge big time ont he Bellagio, but this sounds nice, and so mayb we'll look into it for just us this time around.
