View Full Version : Exercising WITH baby...

I remember (vaguely) reading something somewhere about using your baby as weights for exercise. For instance, holding baby while doing squats to add extra resistence. Obviously, I haven't a clue where I read this and my searches have come up empty. I checked out Baby Boot Camp, but it seems more stroller-oriented, plus I'd like it to be something that I can do at home without having to pack everything in the car on a daily basis.
Anybody have a link, magazine article, anything like this that I can use to create a workout I can do WITH DS? This extra weight is slowin' me down. I gotta get rid of it!
Thanks!

I'm doing a stroller class right now, but we worked out inside the other day since the temp was well on its way to 100+. A few things we did while holding the babies:
Walking lunges (makes them harder because your balance is thrown off a bit if you carry the baby on your side!)
Wall squats
Abdominal crunches (with your knees bent and your baby lying on your shins)
We also did mini-push-ups with our knees on a mat and our chests and faces over the babies (with your knees on the mat it's less strenuous than a real push-up - and for me less likely that I would fall on the baby!).
