They always change the points stuff so you have to go in and get the new stuff. Tricky buggers.

They calculate the "new" points based upon activity level as well.. mine stayed the same. Most people are within 2 points of last year's so your assumption is correct :)

Here's a link to a site that calculates the points for you based on the new formula. The only thing she doesn't include is to add 10 points if you're breastfeeding. http://weightwatchen.com/?page_id=23

You still get the 35 extra points per week. I also believe you should never go below 18 points (used to be 20) no matter what the calculator says.

If you're curious about the breakdown or the link doesn't work, here's the new numbers:

NEW WW FORMULA

1. Are you:
Female?.........score 2
Male?...........score 8
Female and Breastfeeding?.....score 12

2. How old are you?
17-26..............score 4
27-37..............score 3
38-47..............score 2
48-58..............score 1
over 58............score 0

3. What do you weigh?
Enter the 1st 2 digits of your weight in pounds.

4. How tall are you?
under 5'1.........score 0
5'1 to 5'10.......score 1
over 5'10.........score 2

5. Do you spend most of your day:
sitting down?........score 0
Occasionally sitting, but mainly standing?..... score 2
Walking most of the time?......score 4
Doing physically hard work most of the time?....score 6

6. Do you want to:
Lose weight?...........score 0
Maintain your current weight?....score 4

Ifyour numbers add up to more than 44, you only eat the 44, and if the number is lower than 18, you eat the 18.

I know, I would love to have the problem of surviving on 18, though at that point it would be time for maintenance and you get to add 4 back on. I've been using the new numbers for a few weeks, the only big change for me is adjusting to losing a point each time you go under ten pounds (ie. from 160 to 150). Although I hope I'm so happy to break the 0 on the scale, it will hurt less.

Also if you are a man you get more points, so if hubby is doing this with you he has to be aware of that. At least that explains why my dh used to lose really fast on this and I would plod along s-l-o-w-l-y. Everything else is pretty much the same. If you have the calculator and books from before I wouldn't buy them. Very little in those has changed.

ack !!

I scored 17, meaning I am only supposed to have 18 points.

Is there a place you can add points for exercise ?? I sit at a desk all day, but try to get exercise in, depending on a million factors of course.

thanks for posting this

The exercise points work the same as before and can be added. I've never used them so don't know how they are calculated. Remember your 35 flex points as well. Sometimes I save them, sometimes I portion them out, 5 a day for all 7 days.
