Elliptical Or Other At Home Workout Machine Recommendations

We're looking to add some home workout equipment. Our goal over time is to have 2 or 3 pieces. I love doing weights however I think our first piece will be an elliptical machine as that is something both dh & I will use. I did a search and only found one old post from a few years ago. I would appreciate any recommendations for an elliptical or other machines for our future purchases. We would probably be looking for a piece that we invest in so that it last a long time. Some brands I've heard of Precor, Life Fitness... I'm so sick of being out of shape!
