diaper shower

I am throwing a diaper shower for my girlfriend who is also pregnant and due in July 03. I need some help in determining how to allocate the different sizes for guests to bring. I know diapering can vary from one baby to the next, so I guess just a general idea would be helpful for the first year of baby's life.

My family does something similar. We enclose an additional card with the shower invitation that says to some extent:

"Shower Entrance Fee: One Package of Diapers per person. Various sizes of Pampers or Huggies only. Mother will be able to exchange the diapers through out the year at Babies R Us."

No one I know has had a problem returning unopened packages to Babies R Us. And at least you don't have to tell everyone which size to bring.

BRU is really good about exchanges, but they only carry certain size packages - maybe you can leave the diaper size open but suggest that they buy one of the size packages that BRU carries.
