For those of you who shop BJ's, Sam's, or Costco, which place has the best diaper deals? I am not a member of any clubs but will consider joining before the baby is born. Do any of these stores have good generic brands?

Thanks for your help - I'm new at this!!

At Sam's you have to buy the club membership and then buy a HUGE box of diapers. In our area, the per diaper price (for Huggies or Pampers), though, is about the same as it is at Wal-Mart!

I agree, definitely price it out with regular discount stores. It used to be cheaper to buy diapers at Sam's, but the price recently went up and now it's the same as buying them at Meijer -- and I won't be stuck with tons of extra diapers if DS switches sizes before we've used all the diapers in the box. BTW, at my Sam's only Huggies and Sam's brand diapers are carried in the 1-2 sizes. Sam's carries Pampers Cruisers in sizes 3, 4 and 5.

I agree. Diapers are just as cheap other places. And at Costco, you can't use coupons.

You can't use coupons at Sam's either.

I have found that if you have a Babies r Us store coupon and a regular coupon. That is the cheapest way to go. Otherwise I agee Wal-Mart with a coupon is the best. Often the difference between Sams,Wal-Mart and BrU in my area is 1 cent per diaper with coupons. That is a lot of diapers if you won't use the membership for other things.

So what's a good price to pay for each size?

It really depends on where you live - I'd suggest visiting Target, Wal-Mart and BRU and making notes of all of the prices (and sizes of packages). That's what I did, and now I know what to look for in sale prices on diapers!

Prices vary around the country, but generally, less than 20 cents per diaper is a good price.

I just bought 184 count size 1-2 Pampers Swaddlers this week at Sam's and paid $29.88+tax.

I was planning on doing what the other ladies said and go by Wal-Mart and Target, since they are right across the street from each other and price diapers there.

Hope that information helps,

Tia

For a newborn, I agree it is less than 20 cents. I am buying 2s and get them for about 17 or 18 cents. As the kid gets bigger, the price stays the same but the # of diapers per box goes down. Also look carefully at the amount of diapers per package. It varies from store to store! Even if the packages look identical. Very sneaky!

Lastly sign up for all the free magazines and pampers and huggies newsletters. You get more coupons that way.

TRU had coupons (mailed out and in-store) for 2.50 off the big size of Pampers or Huggies. I think it went until 3/31. In my area that brings the price per diaper in line with BJs prices
