Help!
Colin has had diaper rash on and off for the last few weeks. He's never really had it at all before now. It seems to be the "ring of fire" type of rash. For a while, it was seeming to corelate with his consumption of wheat or cheese. We eliminated both items from his diet, rash went away. We added back wheat, and the rash came back. We took out the wheat, waited a week and added back cheese and the rash came back. So, I thought I had it solved, but then yesterday, he hadn't consumed any wheat or cheese for 7 days (or anything new for that matter!), and he got another diaper rash. So now I'm questioning everything.
Is it the cloth dipes?
My detergent?
Am I not changing often enough? (When he's in cloth I change every 2 hours or every poopie dipe, whichever comes first. And I KNOW when the poops come! :) )
Is he just more sensitive to "big boy poops"?
Is it yeast? (I don't think so because it clears up with desitin.)
Can you all think of any causes I might be missing? I'm befuddled and disappointed because I'm thinking that I'm going have to go back to disposables until I get this figured out. (He seems not get a rash as frequently in disposables, though he does get them.) TIA for any ideas!
