I am embarrassed to ask my friend AGAIN how she makes her wipes with Bounty paper towels.

My husband thinks I am crazy for considering making my own wipes. Any agruements would be appreciated!

I would prefer to do disposable wipes. The baby is not here yet. At the hospital they said no oils until the baby is 2-3 weeks old. Is that true?

I was searching the internet on a search engine entering in "wipes recipies" and "wipes solution" and came across one. I am going to use cloth wipes and just make the solution, but I came across recipies using the paper towels.

Here's a link for you. http://www.gentleparenting.com/diaper_wipes_faq.html

I'm going to give you this second link http://organizedhome.com/clean/wipes.html which isn't for wipes but is actually for cleaning wipes because it has a nice little description of the process in general (and in truth the only difference is going to be the solution you use so if you find a receipe you like you are set).

I haven't made any of these wipes but my friend who makes her own cleaning wipes swears that using an electric knife to cut the roll makes it a lot easier

We just use warm water and Viva paper towels. We keep the water in a thermos at the changing table. I replenish it (with hot water) once a day and it stays warm for 24 hours. We keep a little tupperware container next to it, pour some water in that when needed, and use the paper towels. The Viva towels are very thick and soft. I read that somewhere and it's worked for us for 7+ months. We just use lots of water to clean poopy butts and don't use anything when diapers are just wet.
