Hi All-I have a question about the way diaper packages sold at warehouse clubs, like Sam's Club are packages. Retail stores sell them as N, 1, 2, 3, etc. but I notice at Sam's they are packages in one box as "1-2". DD just moved to size 2 and while I'd like to get diapers from Sam's Club for the value, I don't understand how the 1-2 package works. Are there half 1's and half 2's? TIA for the explanation

I'm not positive, but they seem to be somewhere between a 1 and a 2. I buy all my daughter's diapers at Costco now, but I didn't start until she was a size 3 for a couple of reasons. The first was the size 1-2 confusion, the second was that she seemed to grow out of sizes very quickly until she hit 3...then she stayed in 3 for months and months. It was only then that I felt comfortable buying the huge box.

From my experience, you have to read the side of the box On the side of the box it will have the recommended weight limit. Some say 8-15 lbs, the diapers inside which are a bit bigger than size 1's but not by much. The ones that say 10-18 are almost size 2's maybe a little smaller.

I recently bought the Huggies 1-2 at Costco (228 diapers) - I can tell you that they all just say "1" on them.

I too thought maybe half were 1 and half were 2, but they all say 1. I think the other person who said they are somewhere in between a 1 and a 2 was correct. They are very adjustable because they are stretchy. I was hesitant to open them, but I did and now I am sruck with them. I really don't know if I'll need all of those diapers before he outgrows them.

I've used size 1, 1-2, and I also have some 2's now. We are finishing up our 1-2s and I compared them to the 2s. 1-2 is just an in between size, in between size 1 and 2 that is. The 2s look just a little bit bigger.

When I bought the Pampers Baby-Dry size 1-2 a few months ago they were the exact same size as a retail size 2 Baby-Dry diaper. It was a really good value, since size 2's are more expensive than size 1 per diaper, anyway, plus buying in bulk makes it even cheaper.

My experience has been that Huggies 1/2's are all 1's and the Pampers 1/2's are all 2's (and I've purchased the huge boxes at BRU and at Sam's and I have noticed this was the same for both stores). HTH

I don't know if anyone goes back this far to get info, but our experience over the last 3 months of using newborns, then 1s, 1/2s, 2s, and 3s is that each of these IS a distinct size. We have used Huggies Ultratrim throughout. I also initially thought 1/2 was a mix of 2 sizes, but the package contains all diapers the same size!

HTH!
