Vinegar and Baking Soda

Hi -

When do you add vinegar or baking soda to your wash? I've read add it (about 1/2 Cup) during a prewash/prerinse, and then I've read add it to the final rinse.

I was thinking about sprinkling baking soda on the cds after I rinse them off in the toilet and then throw in the pail. Maybe that will be enough to freshen them up before washing...yes, no?

I usually add about 1/4 - 1/2 cup baking soda at th beginning of my wash or 1st wash if I'm doing 2. Then I use a downey ball with white vinegar and drop it in for the rinse.
I don't do this at every wash, but when I do, I've never had any diapers smell like vinegar of anything like that either. I've never used it right on diapers, because A. usually only has one or maybe two poops a day so I only use my minishower to spray off those diapers so I really don't have that many "washed" diapers in my pail. I guess you could try it and see how it goes. I don't think it would hurt anything.
