I don't know if this is a weird question or not, but for pants that don't have snaps at the crotch, do you remove the pants? i do...for one, because they usually fall off anyway, and for two, i worry that something will get on the pants.

i was just curious if this was normal.

I remove the pants if they don't have snaps. I can't get her legs spread far enough without removing the pants.

Linda, you must be talented :)

I'm not coordinated enough to get her cleaned up without removing her pants, which is why we mostly have the snap kind, or onesies with snap crotch and a jumper or dress :)

My child is a terror during diaper changes. I have to take off the pants, b/c I usually diaper with her crawling or standing now.

With my own son, he is so young and his legs so short that if I don't pull off his pants, they fall off anyway. However, I found when I worked in daycare with 1-2 yrs olds, that I could just pull their pants down to change the dipe. I guess their legs were longer, so not only did it help hold the pants on, but they could bend their knees a bit to let me change the diaper. So I am guessing as DS grows, I will be able to do that more. Right now I hate pants since I have to put them on every time!

I always take off ds' pants and socks or booties. He likes to poo during diaper changes, so it's easier if he's not wearing anything below the waist.
