All this talk about dyeing has gotten me really excited. I've never dyed a thing in my life besides once as a girl scout when I was probably about 8. But I think I could totaly do it. Who is Dharma and how can I get these procion dyes? Is there a link to her site or an email? Also, can someone give me a link or recommend a good book that explains how to tie-dye? I know it involoves string, but other than that I am lost!
Thanks!!

There are some instructions in their catalog about how to tie dye, plus they sell books on it.

For tie-dying all you need to do is either wad and twist and secure with string or rubber bands parts of the garmet for the more "traditional tie-dye (envision the sun burst kinda look). Or, you can fold (I've done accordian folds and even just "whatever folding" for a more geometric look.

once you've got your piece folded or wadded, you just dip or pour different colors of dye on different sections of the garmet. Of corseyou'll need to follow the dye directions for prepping & treating the garment.

Here's a link with lots of info. I haven't looked at any of it, but it might be helpful.
