I had been looking at the Imse Vimse swim diapers, but I was not able to find a place where the shipping costs weren't almost the cost of the diaper! I finally found them at http://www.granolamoms.com/index.htm with very inexpensive shipping. I've purchased from this store before, and my items arrived quickly in perfect condition, so I am comfortable recommending the store. I just purchased one Imse Vimse swim diaper for $11 plus $.83 shipping! Yay!

Thanks for the link. I was wondering if there was anything good for swimming. I really don't want to have to keep buying swim diapers.

Thanks Michelle!!
The shipping was my dilemma too and then I started using disposables because I had procrastinated so badly.

Oh Wow - I just got notification that the swim diaper has shipped and I only ordered less than three hours ago! I am growing to love this company.

I do really like that website. I bought a woolybaby soaker from them and it shipped the next day, with some nice little sample items.
I highly also recomend the swim diapers from BRU or Target (iPlay brand). Just make sure to get the ones with soft white terry lining inside or they aren't very soft at all, and kind of scratchy on your babes thighs. You have to open the package to check for the type of lining , but oh well. I got two very cute printed ones for only $6.99 each. Target has matching tee-shirts and hats that go with them!

Do you think these diapers are nicer than the ones you can get from One Step Ahead? http://www.onestepahead.com. Incidentally, they are having a sale of diapers + sarong sets. Unfortunately, they don't have any smalls (Kaya's size).

Oh man, I missed it! We just received two from JulieStuff.com...but after Lori's recommendation, I e-mailed Julie and got them shipped for $3.85 USPS priority, so that was good-- not $.83, but okay. We're headed on a little family vacation this coming Monday so DS#2 will get to try them out. They look so small, another poster's characterization of them as a baby speedo looks about right :D

Thanks! I've been putting this off but should get one soon since it's pool season :)

I am so diaper challenged I don't even know if you have to put anything on under this?! Does it go over a cloth, sposie, or naked bottem?

It goes over a naked bottom. Then, if you like, you can put a swimsuit over it. Most swim dipes just have a mesh-lining to keep the poop contained.. the pee goes into the pool. :)

But you probably only paid $9.25 for the diapers, so total $13 (vs. $12 above). And you got two! We got ours from Juliestuff. They ARE teeny and Speedo-like but they fit really well. I also like that they don't have velcro to snag a girl's swimsuit.

We love ours - they look so cute on and fit really well under a swimsuit. Sophia was stylin' at the pool last month!

Ok...silly question. The pee really goes into the pool? Are there any swim diapers that contain everything? What about the Huggies swim diapers?

I don't think there are any swim diapers that hold pee, disposable or reusable. It surprised me too, but in some weird way, it makes sense.

I think you're right. And it does make sense, because if they held pee they'd also absorb pool water and basically be just like wearing a disposable in the poll...ick! I think the chlorine in the water kills just about everything. :)

Not to be too silly, but ya know I don't mind MY baby's pee...but it does kind of ick me out to think about our upcoming swim lessons with lost of babies in the pool. I guess I'll try hard not to think about it too much. Thank goodness for chlorine!

Not thinking about it works. I don't think about it every Saturday. :)

I'm gonna jump in here with a question too...how tight (or loose) should swim diapers fit? DD isn't quite at 22 pounds yet, which seems to be the cutoff point for most brand's size medium vs. large. The mediums seem so tight I'm afraid we'd have a blow out, but the leg holes in the large seem just a little too loose to really contain. I've thought about trying one that's a little more adjustable size wise, but does anyone else make adjustable swim diapers other than those sold at One Step Ahead?

TIA,
Jennifer
