Well, I've been using the Benjamuffin Night Dreamers with Applix for several nights now, and thought I'd post some pics and a review.

First off, the diapers are very very cute, very well-made and they look very comfortable. She seems to be able to kick around and move around the crib (she doesn't crawl yet) even though they give her a big diaper butt.

I've used them with the snap-in soaker + doubler, the snap-in soaker with a kissaluv doubler (it's smaller), and with two kissaluv doublers no soaker. For absorbency, these diapers are pretty amazing. Kaya was able to go 12+ hours and the outside was slightly damp (the soakers and doubler were soaked), but she was pretty dry and more importantly, rash-free! (I used the Aristocrat)

Unfortunately, Kaya has recently started pooping at night (I think she has an upset tummy :( ) and this is where I've noticed some problems. She is still being exclusively breast fed, and the last couple nights, I've found that the poop has leaked out the backside (top) and a little around the leg. Fortunately, the Aristocrat has contained everything, but I've had to wash the Aristocrat twice in the last two nights. :(

I'm wondering if it's because when the doubler and soaker is in it, it's harder to adjust the diaper to enclose everything. In fact, a premium prefold with doubler seems to contain poop better. So until she gets out of this phase of pooping every night, I may have to put away the Benjamuffins. :( How do you guys deal with it?

However, Kaya is starting solids in a couple of weeks, so this may end up as a non-issue soon.

So, basically, I would say that for wetness, comfort, cuteness, and affordability, the Benjamuffins are great! But I wouldn't recommmend it for BF'd poop.

Anyway, here are a few pics:

CUTE, CUTE, CUTE! Kaya looks so happy! Is that the soaker sticking out the front of the third picture? I ordered mediums and my soaker sometimes tries to stick out too. I have to make sure it is lined up exactly with the back when I lay it in.

I'm not sure about the poop issue. DS stopped pooping at night around 3 months and it was then we started going all night in the diaper. The only time we've have a problem is if he's sick. When he was about 7 months he got sick for about a week and was pooping in the middle of the night. Is Kaya teething?

Solids did help us a lot. Now his poops are more "formed" and it's easy to just plop in the toilet. The only problem is the smell is enough to knock me over!

oK, I think I've been talking way too much about poop! Sorry!

Thanks! I think she does like the new diapers. I believe it's the doubler that's sticking out. The doubler is a large and the diaper is a medium--I found that out when I talked to Kimberly (I had forgotten). Anyway, she's going to make me some medium doublers so that they'll fit inside better. The soaker fits a little better, but I do need to make sure I tuck it in properly, especially in the back.

I'm thinking Kaya might have a little stomach upset, because she's been pooping a lot more than usual and it's been more watery. Of course, this is after she was pooping every 7-10 days! So it's better, but I'm hoping that when her stomach distress goes away, she'll stop doing it at night again. I did notice last night that there was less than usual, so perhaps it is slowing down.

She may start teething soon, since her drooling has recently gotten more pronounced in the last few days. But no signs of white breaking through yet!

Anyway, I'll continue keeping an eye on her teeth and her behavior with her stomach--she's been grunting and arching her back during feeding, but the pede says it's not likely to be reflux because it doesn't usually start this late. Plus, with her pooping issues, it's more likely she has some bug. She's had a very slight temp (99.9 at its highest) but that too is going down.

By the way, I love the avatar of your DS. He's got an adorable smile! And that curly hair! :)

Lol, my DS still grunts and arches his back while nursing. usually this is when he's really tired and fighting sleep.

Sorry to hear Kaya isn't feeling well. Hope she recovers soon :)
