Monkey cover saga: Updated with pictures

The cover finally came today. I was pretty excited to see the package because I wanted to see what the hype was. I took the cover out and was reading the little card that came with it. Then I held the cover up and was examining the monkey. It was "pretty" centered. Just a tad bit off but nothing I can not live with. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw DS pick something up and was about to stick it in his mouth. I swiped it out of his hand and was trying to figure out what the heck I was looking at. It was a snap!!! That's right, I hadn't even had the cover for 5 minutes and a snap fell off! I haven't even tried it on DS yet!!

Sigh...so what should I do ladies? I haven't emailed Lark yet. Frankly, I just want my money back. I don't want her to repair the cover and send it back because by the time all of that happens it probably won't even fit my DS. I'm also afraid of sending the cover back and never seeing any money, kwim? I've never been ripped off by a WAHM before, but I have heard some shady stories on MDC and it kind of seems like this company may try to pull some scam.

Any thoughts?

Update: I just took a bunch of pictures and uploaded them to Shutterfly. At this point I'm going to cut my losses and keep the diaper. We'll be able to wear it for a little while and then I'll sell it cheap. I am going to email Lark, let her know about the broken snap, and take it from there.

Ugh! Angie, it seems like Lark's problems are in every package she sent! I so have to laugh at all this. I really do. This is just ludicrous. I am beside myself with the all around crud that she is sending out.

How does the cover fit? Does it least cover Noah's dipe? If it fits, can you have somebody else fix a snap for you? could you send it to Stephanie at Mudpie Babies so that you don't have to wait so long? If Stephanie will do it for you, then just perhaps just email Lark that you are disappointed especially since this snap falling off comes on the heels of a slough of other problems that us monkey butts have had. I would add that although you would like her to fix the snap, you are sending it elsewhere for the surgery.

Ack!!! If Noah had swallowed the snap, could you have sued her? ;-) Anyway, if it does at least fit him, I would do the same thing that Juliet suggested, although I would probably send it to Ruth, since she's become a good friend of mine. And I would definitely send her an e-mail, expressing your disappointment, but that you're sending the cover elsewhere.

Like Juliet said before, this is probably the best $13 bucks I've ever spent for a few days entertainment--The Comedy of (diaper) Errors!

I haven't tried the cover on him yet. I'll probably do it tonight after his bath. IF the cover fits I'll probably just send it to Stephanie or Ruth. I've actually been meaning to order more diapers from both of them. I still haven't sent my defective inserts back to Ruth so maybe I'll just include it in the package. Although it was only $13 I'm still kind of stressed out about the whole thing. DS is outgrowing his medium diapers and money is tight. I could have spent the money somewhere else, kwim?

Although the whole thing is ridiculous, at least I got to see some darn cute pics of Noah. :)

The way it fits Noah in the front is the same way it fits Ryan in the front....droopy!

Let us know about the snap issue resolvement. I'll inspect mine a bit more carefully too.

Oh my goodness! He's adorable!!! I LOVE looking at pics of your DS. It makes all of this worthwhile. :)

Thanks for the kind replies regarding Noah's cuteness. He was protesting the fashion show in a big way :)
