View Full Version : Is my baby ready for PT FBs?

Well, I only have two (used) FBs in my stash and they've been great...up until now. I had DD in one of them with my usual microfiber/PF combo during her nap. I noticed when I was putting them on her that she needed to be snapped on the first snap for the legs, but I could still get the waist snapped all the way! But I also noticed that the rise was pretty low....

After her nap, I found that we had our first major leak ever! :( Yep, wet all over her front, as well as the sheets. I'm surprised she slept 2 hours! Anyway, when I looked at the inserts, they were pretty soaked in front, but still fairly dry in the back. But the diaper was pretty low in front as well, which leads me to suspect she MIGHT be outgrowing her mediums. What do you think? I don't want to get some PT's if they're not going to fit right, especially because I seem to recall getting them used is not as easy. Any one's babe outgrowing their PT's and want to lend me one?

By the way, Liza, have you successfully made some LJ inserts for the SEZ's?

ETA: I knew I should have put her in PFs in a wool cover for her nap--I've never had a leak with that combo! Sigh. Should have known better....

One thing I HATE about FB is the sizing...I have several mediums and they are ALL different. One of the froggies is SO much bigger it HAD to be a large...Anyway, I think there are other options out there other than FB. I'd be happy to send you one of the bigger froggies if you want to try it, I don't have any PT though...

Huh, I didn't know the sizing of FB mediums were so variable! I'm going to get a PT from Anna, but thanks for the offer!

I have 13 FB mediums and I agree with the other poster. They are all sized differently, ESPECIALLY the width of the crotch. There are certain ones, I like to use to stuff a nightt insert into, b/c the crotch is wider, and then there are others that I can only use during the daytime, b/c the crotch is more narrow. What kind of annoys me is that these were not seconds, so I don't know why they vary so much.

Okay, that's pretty crazy. I thought FBs were machine/mass manufactured? Or are they handmade by different people and so they end up varying?

since you asked me a question, i can answer it, right??

yes, i do now carry LJ inserts for snap ez. (and still the BBs and FBs)

and actually, i was going to say that you could go right to large snap ez so that you didn't have to worry about the PTs. i do love my PTs. but i have a skinny man. i don't know if they fit well on a "normal" baby or not. because the large FBs are giant. but my large snap ez are a fabulous fit. still feeling the guilt of ordering 4 more...
