So after several hours, a few tears and the intervention of a friend, we finally managed to install our minishower and it works like a dream. However, ever since we did, here's what happens:

In the middle of the night, whenever anyone flushes the toilet, the pipes make this HORRIBLE, LASTING noise (about 2-4 minutes), and the floor shakes, and the entire building (4 apartments, one per floor) can hear it. It's like a helicopter is landing on our roof. But it only happens between about 1am and 7am - never during the day.

What did we do? Everything is working fine, except for the walls being on the verge of explosion in the middle of every night. We can even feel the vibration in the kitchen It wakes the baby, and it feels like one of these days we're going to have a big mess on our hands. Do we need to call a plumber now??

If there's a plumber (or even someone handier than we are!) in the house, I'll pay for advice!!

Thanks,
Jude

Jude,

See: "Sudden Onset of banging pipes"

I wonder if a washer got missplaced when you assembled the mini? - sounds like it's related to the shut-off valve.
