I have one of the nylon covers. It's very easy to put on and it's super thin. I've never had a leak with it before. However, it is on the floppy side, so if Kaya is being particularly kicky, the leg part some times folds up (curse of the chunky thighs, I guess!). Still, even with that, I've never had a leak, so I would say it's a good cover. I use it when I have a particularly bulky diaper and don't want to add any more thickness to her diaper butt! Hmm...I never thought about putting it over my CPFs, though, so I don't know how it well it would go over them. I can check for you later, if you'd like. Do you want the CPF snappi'd or trifolded?

I haven't used the covers. But I did see a couple reviews for them on the Pin. http://www.diaperpin.com/diapers/ItemDetail.asp?ID=962. If that link doesn't work go to Product Reviews and then to Covers.

I also really like the PUL covers from Very Baby. They're perfect for CPF's, fit well, and you can choose a cute print for the outside.

I'm confused. The reviews say that these covers are breathable. I have two of them and like them, but they are plastic, how can they be breathable?

Does she make more than one type of cover?

I think they are breathable in the same sense that the ME Airflow is "breathable". There is some ventilation provided, by virtue of the snap section. Hence "breathable". Or at least that would be my take on it.

I think they're breathable the way nylon windbreakers are breathable. It is true that Kaya's not quite as warm with the nylon covers over prefolds than when she's in PUL pockets, but maybe it was just chance during those times I used them?

How is it different to trifold a prefold vs. snappi a prefold? obviously, the snappi version involves a snappi, but is the fold the same?

Hey Kathryn,

Okay, I got a picture of a quadruple-folded premium PF inside an SEZ cover. I quadruple-folded it instead of trifolding it because its more aborbent for Kaya that way. It works better than I expected, although I still prefer snappi'ing Kaya for trimness. But maybe it would be better if I trifolded? The good news is that it does work. I've been playing around trifolding and quadruple-folding with various (fleece & wool) covers, but I think I still prefer snappi'ing. It remains more trim, IMO. If only Kaya would give up the diaper changing struggle! I couldn't get a picture of the front because she wouldn't stay on her back and I'm alone this week, so no one to hold up her to get a front picture.

ETA: I THINK that snappi'ing would work better for this cover because it's such a flexible cover--it doesn't have it's own "stiff" shape like a bummis or bumpy does. In fact, this cover works very well for fitted dipes. I find that with some of my wool wraps, trifolding/quadruplefolding doesn't work well because they don't have a "stiff" shape of their own. They work much better on fitted diapers or snappi'd prefolds. The other covers, such as the infamous monkey butt cover, that hold their shape better, actually work well with trifolding/quadruple folding. I never would have realized this if I hadn't been playing with trifolding/quadruplefolding lately.

HTH!

When you trifold, you just fold the diaper into a big rectangle, in thirds, lay in wrap like a big maxi-pad, and fold the wrap around the babe. The wrap holds the dipe on the baby. Not great for BF only kids, poo will inevitably get on the cover. Not the end of the world, but annoying if it happens eight times a day. There are several folds for PFs, which I know you probably know, and most do involve trifolding the front part of the pf, and fanning out the back to cover the booty, and then pin or snappi. I love Karen from Kool Sheep Soakers' diaper web page. www.diaperpages.com She's got great step by steps on several pf folds.
