These are crocheted soaker shorts--they get great reviews and you get to "meet the sheep" ;). We have to buy in groups of 5 soakers, but there's no maximum per person (so you could personally get 3 or 5 or 7 or whatever), as long as we have multiples of 5.

The discounted price is $20 per soaker with shipping of $1 per soaker. The Pants retail for $32 plus $2 shipping, so this is almost a 40% discount! The turnaround on a group order is approximately 5 weeks. She hasn't been taking orders recently and is getting back into the groove.

Only the Originals are available now. The Clouds will be available in April after the sheep are shorn (she is willing to do a waiting list for them, but they're not the same price because of the wool difference). Here are the details on the soakers: http://www.thecucumberseed.net/picklepants.htm
I'm planning on using these for night-time.

If you would like to participate, please post here or PM me! If you have questions, please PM me (rather than the Pickle Pant lady) so I can send her one email instead of 20. :)

Thanks for arranging this Anna. I would be interested in one.
Question for you, what are you planning to use under the soaker? Any fitted in particular?
I am using fleece pockets at night but think they will be too warm when summer comes around.
The only thing I can think of is a Benjamuffin Night fitted. I don't want anything with hemp because of the stinkies. Thanks!

I have a couple of Nightlights, but of course Gracie usually pees in them as soon as we put one on. Otherwise, it's just a bulky fitted. I might be looking into Benjamuffins too because she's been a pee-monster lately. I hate the stinkies, although I'm beginning to think it's my washer, which apparently has been the subject of a class action suit and we may be able to get a replacement...

ETA: I think the Benjamuffins are hemp. Although from what I've heard about her customer service, you should definitely email her and see if there are other options! http://benjamuffins.com/cgi-bin/Shopping/store.cgi?action=link&sku=NDAplix&uid=3775

Anna, count me in! I love wool, and this is an amazing deal! $20 for a $32 soaker is an incredible savings. Thanks for putting it together! Do we need to give you any preferences or are they all rainbow colored with ties in front?

e-mail me for info. Thanks again! :)

You pick the colors: http://www.www.thecucumberseed.net/woolcolors.htm

I've emailed her to say we're interested and ask if the custom dye jobs are available with group orders. Just in case, pick one of the 11 colors on that link for now!

It appears as though the tie is part of the design, but I will put than on my list to ask. I think it is, and it's how you control the waistband. I don't think you can "rib" with crochet, but I may be wrong.

That is dirt cheap for all the work that goes into them! I'm tempted but we use so few soakers around here...

I want one! I think I will want one of the hand dyed if they are available, otherwise I want Thistle. Or maybe Mountain Laurel.

Anna, you rock!! I would be interested in at least 2 pairs if not more. Is this on the DL? Because if not I have a friend would probably want to participate.

Nope, the group price is listed out in the open on her site. But she's been closed for a while and not taking just random orders, if that makes any sense.

You make pairs 11 and 12, so we need 3 more to have 3 groups of 5! :)

Is this WAHMIE back in action? I recall some problems going on last fall. My friend waited months for a soaker and really recieved poor customer service :(

Oh nooooooooooo! All the stuff I've been reading was good. Crapadoodledoo.

She said she had taken a break to be with her family more, but she was getting "back into the swing of things."

Honest opinion Pam, should we risk it? You can PM me if you'd rather.

Ok, one of my friends just told me she heard the wool is scratchy and that is why there are so many on the TP all the time. Now I don't know if that is true or not but it is something that I have to consider.

Shandelle, are you the only one who owns one? What is your take on the softness of the wool? Is it itchy scratchy?

Anna,
Let me get a hold of my GF this weekend and ask her honest opinion for you :)

I have one. The wool is a little scratchy - no too bad. And it's thick - something to wear for nighttime or with a t-shirt.

I'll try to take pics later today.

I'd like to try one....well assuming on what ya'll decide since it seems there might be some hesitation. I will defer to the "board of trustees" on whether or not we will proceed :)

Anna - congrat on your little BOY coming! I love being mama to a little boy.

I got a pair of her long pants, as a tester last fall. I was involved with her whole tough period. It seems like there was some family stuff going on, and she fell way behind. I did get my pants, although I had given up on them. I think she is a reputable lady, and this is a good deal to do.

The wool is a tad scratchy, but softens after a wash or two. I had a pair of shorts last summer, too.

! Important Notice !- We want to apologize to all of our wonderful customers for all of our problems this fall. We are a family run business and have been experiencing some serious personal family issues which have affected my health and business. We want to thank all of you who have given me such wonderful support and understanding while I have been working through these issues. All of my orders are up to date and we are open for business!

Technical Issues- Through all of this I have also experienced technical problems with The Cucumber Seed, email, and this website. I have switched to a new server and am very excited about this positive change. However, I am also experiencing domain issues which means that everything will be running under www.thecucumberseed.net for the next month. In January, we hope to have our www.thecucumberseed.com address back and from then forward you will be able to find us at .net or .com. However, in the interim, please change your bookmarks and our email addresses to .net. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Can be found http://www.thecucumberseed.net/index.htm

I will email her about scratchiness. She offered to send me a swatch, so I think I will take her up on that!
