Did you try out your fleece Fancy Pants last night? How did it go? I'm thinking about ordering one, but wanted to wait for your review first. How do you like the side snaps? I just ordered an ApronStrings fleece pocket with 2 sets of snaps yesterday.

No, we didn't try it. I tried it on him and it's just gigantic! I don't know if it's the sizing, the 2 layers of Windpro, or the side snap design, but it is super poofy everywhere. I wasn't sure that I'd ever get his pajamas on over it :).

The diaper itself was nicely made and very soft. The side snaps seemed a bit nicer than front snaps. It might just be that there are fewer snaps so it's easier to get the fit right. The waist and the legs actually did fit, there was just a lot of extra diaper available.

So, I am sending it back. I can try to get some photo tomorrow. I was worried about him peeing in it when I don't want to keep it, you know?

I also got an Ella's fleece pocket today. He is wearing that now. I like this one much better. It is much trimmer on him. It is Velcro, which I do like a bit better than the snaps. We'll see how it goes.

Ooh, I'd definitely be interested to see how well your aplix fleece pocket works. I like the snaps when she's in just the diaper (so around the house), because that way she can't get them off. For overnight, though, it wouldn't matter. I'd be interested to see if your fleece pocket holds overnight.

Did you get your Apron Strings pockets yet? How are they working?

Okay, I'll give you my initial impressions, since I've used each of them only once and it was all on the same day, LOL!

I got the diapers on Wednesday and washed them so I could use them right away. I didn't wash them the usual way, but just washed them with my baby clothes. I'd like to try them each at least once more before I do a complete review. However, I thought I'd give you some initial impressions.

Okay, first, the test diaper. I was going to put Kaya down for a nap
after putting her in it, so I decided to stuff it not only with the
insert she gave me, but also a trifolded microfiber towel. As you can
see, from the picture, it does make it a bit bulky. However, that
combination was able to last through her nap, and I didn't actually
get around to changing her until 5 hours after I put her in the
diaper. She was only slightly damp in front and completely dry in
front--the inserts were soaked in front. Next time, of course, I
won't leave her in the diaper that long, and/or I'll put an extra
piece of microfleece in the front. Anyway, you can see from the
picture that the double inserts end up making the diaper look poofy on
her. But it didn't seem to bother her and she was obviously able to
sleep in it (took a 2 hour nap!). Oh, and even though she was
slightly damp in front, the outside and her clothes were completely
dry--so no leaks! I think I like this new design, but I'd like to use
it at least once more before saying for sure. I'll try it with just
the insert next time.

Okay, next diaper I tried on was the fruit loops. This is a very cute print! I stuffed that one with an SEZ daytime hemp fleece/burley knit insert with microfiber towel. I'm not sure if I like the location of the snaps on this one, but I want to try it a few times before I say for sure (Rebecca made the snaps with a slightly different configuration to see if it would work better). Anyway, that combo worked pretty well, although it was poofer in front, making her fall backwards sometimes when she was sitting up. But I think it's something she would get used to. This diaper w/the insert combo lasted until her bedtime, so that was probably a good 4 hours. She even started pooping it it, but I removed the diaper before she finished. Maybe I should have left her in it to test the diaper's capacity, LOL, but I was trying to see if I could catch the poop with the potty. It was a very very large amount, so it certainly would have stretched this or any diaper to its limits. :) Anyway, my impressions of this diaper are currently tentatively positive.

The final diaper is the one that she had on last night. It was stuffed with a night-time SEZ insert and an MOE large insert. It's quite poofy, as you can see from the picture, but the night insert + one microfiber towel is not quite enough for her overnight (I've tested that combo in another fleece pocket (windbloc, Snapping Turtles)), while the night insert + one microfiber towel + one fuzbaby hemp insert is enough. But of course, that combo is quite bulky, so I decided to try this large MOE insert + SEZ insert. It worked like a charm. No leaks, and she was completely dry and not warm at all! It works great as an overnight diaper.

Since all three diapers have a different snap configuration, I'll try
them all a few times to decide which one I like best (in particular,
the two front-snap diapers). By the way, the fruit loops is 200 wt and the lavender/periwinkle ones are 300 wt.

Thanks Kris and Eileen! I think I'll skip the Fancy Pants and order an Ella or Very Basic instead to go with my ApronStrings one.

And Eileen-- is the periwinkle color in your pictures look the same IRL? I love periwinkle and decided to go ahead and order that color even though it said it had lavender undertones. But now I'm afraid it will be too girly for Conner. What do you think? Is it really just lavender?

Oh, and do you remember how long it took both of you to receive your ApronStrings diapers after you had placed your order?

It was fast! I think she shipped the day after I placed the order. I did order something in-stock though.

My only hold up was that I placed the order using her form, but she never got it. I followed up with e-mail 3 days later, since I hadn't heard from her. So, double check that she gets the order!

Okay, here are my photos. He was midly cooperative this morning.

Here is the Apron Strings: I think these are my favorite overall.

The Ella: A little gapping in the front. It was slightly damp this morning, too. The inserts were mostly soaked, but not completely.

The Fancy Pants: It doesn't look as poofy in the pictures, I think.

And for reference, the SEZ: This was the morning that he had leaked through a bit.

Actually, it took maybe 2.5 weeks? But she made 2 of them customized for me, and actually made a third tester diaper to go with them. So it's not too bad. The color is very close to what you see. I think it's not too purple for a boy. I think it's fairly gender neutral, depending on what clothes they have on. :) It's not as purple as some other purple diapers/fleece things that I have. I would have preferred it to have more purple, but now that I see it IRL, I do like it. :)

My Apron Strings INSTOCK fleece pockets took 3 business days to arrive (coast to coast). I paid Sunday night, Monday was President's day so USPS was closed. The package arrived Thursday.

I had a ton of questions since this was my first fleece, first front snapping diaper. All my e-mails were promptly answered in a detailed manner. Great customer service! Very well made dipes :9.
