I just recently started CD'ing and on the suggestion of most everyone, went with CPF's and Proraps (which I love!!). Well, after a month of plain white covers, I am starting to get a little bored. My DH has put a limit on my cover buying, so I need some creative ideas to make my proraps a little more exciting. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Mariah P.

How about fabric paint or dying? I've seen a hand-painted prorap on the Trading Post on MDC. If you're not artistically inclined, you could use a stencil. :)

Miss moose colored some for her sister but I can't find that link. It was really clever to let her sister do it I thought. Ithink it was with permanent markers and she drew on the tabs and the front and back.

Wow! That is so cute! Any idea of whether or not it would bleed in the wash, or how many times to wash it so it doesn't? I've never rit-dyed anything before, but maybe I'll try...

I'm guessing permanent markers would be pretty "permanent" in most cases, so I'm guessing it wouldn't bleed to much. The way to test it, would be to maybe draw a little on the inside in a hidden area, let it completely dry and then see what happens when you soak it in hot water or something along those lines. I would also guess that fabric markers would come with washing/setting instructions. Good luck! It sounds like a fun project! :)

We used fabric markers on our Bumpy cover....I think that it should work on the Prowrap as well. I havent washed it yet but I would think it should stay just fine....DH has several t-shirts that the girls Miss Moose has designed for him and they all look just like new or pretty close even after several washes. My dad also has one she made him with a sharpie and it has been loved to death and still looks great. I dont see why it wouldnt? If not fabric markers (we bought ours at Michaels) then fabric paint would work to but I think it might be more prone to wearing off, but Im not sure....I will have to try it out myself....thanks for the idea as we too have a boring white prowrap! oh...here is the link to our designer diaper post. :)

You can actually iron on pul. I've had best success with teeshirt iron on paper made for your printer. Put a towel under the prowrap and use the lowest setting possible to get the image to stick. The white parts of the iron on may yellow over time (mine did on plain PUL) but not badly enough that I thought it was ugly or anything.
www.fussybutt.com used to embroider right onto fuzzibunz (she's doing her own thing now, not sure if she still offers that service or not), but her work is amazing. I've seen other wahms paint on PUL covers using fabric paints too.
