Question about using a Snappi???

I have figured out how to make my prefolds into fitteds, but I have a question about using Snappi's. When I use a Snappi I stretch it like everyone says to but DD keeps having red marks from where it is (red marks on her skin from the pressure). It doesn't touch her skin at all, I have tried making it looser then it doesn't really work, so what am I doing wrong? Am I putting it too high up on DD? I can post a pick of how I am using it if I need to once DD wakes up, I can try to put a fitted and a snappi on her and take a photo.

Hmm, a picture would be helpful.

We do put the snappi on kind of low, under her belly. The entire diaper is under her belly button. It sorta rides high in the back then when I pull the sides to the front they angle down a bit. I'd say we snappie across the pubic bone. Make sense?
