View Full Version : Does your Diva make you feel constipated?

Is it my imagination? Do you find it difficult to remove? What is with the tiny splinter looking things around the top? I did not notice them before but now I do and I don't like what I think it is.
How are the rest of you doing with the Diva?

The Diva cup took me quite a bit of time to figure out how to remove. I do need to squat down and bear down a little so that it comes down enough for me to grab. It's gotten better with practice. The tiny splinter thing around the top edge is an airhole, I think. But I'm not sure.

The splinter things are airholes, so the Diva doesn't give you a gigantic internal hickey when you go to remove it (sorry for that image :-P). I haven't felt constipated, so much, but I know what you mean...kind of an extra pressure feeling on the inside, right? but luckily, it's not actual constipation...

ok, airhole but the problem is they are --ahemm-- congested upon removal. Which brings me to another point. Removal is very tricky. Major suction going on. I feel as if I may actually cause damage.
I had a c-section but I am well over 30 years old so I have a size 2.

Okay, I reach in and sort of squeeze the bottom of the cup, which helps break the seal. It comes out fairly easily. In fact, AF came today, so it's in right now. I don't even feel it. :)

Yep. If the suction is really a lot then I'll break it with my finger first but usually just squeezing the base is enough. The first few times I had that same feeling - like it was going to suck me inside out, LOL ;)

ETA - for the "constipated" feeling try adjusting the angle. I defeinitely don't put mine in as the directions say (angle wise) as it just didn't work for me. If nothing else works, you could always return it and try a mooncup. It's shaped like a keeper (apparently a bit narrower than the diva??) buit still silicone as opposed to latex rubber.

I agree about the angle. My OB/GYN actually said that the angle of my cervix (I think it was) is more tilted than many women. But he also said that everyone's angles are slightly different. So I would say the angle they suggest is not "one angle fits all" LOL. :)

I wiggle the base a little when I remove it, which seems to help with the suction thing. I think the airholes are a nice idea in theory, but in practice they're a little strange...
