I was so excited! In general, I feel like my peers in NEO (Northeast Ohio) look upon me like I am some nut ball, natural water birth, breastfeeding and cloth diapering.

But articles like this remind me that I am not so crazed or alone, (well at least when it comes to dealings with DD. lol) And give me hope that the numbers for CDing will keep growing.

Featured a super cute 9 mo old with FB on in the paper article.

Here is the link if you want to read.

Christy,

Thanks for the link! We're adopting, and I am planning on CDing. We live in central Ohio, and I don't know anyone IRL who CDs. My friends think I am a little crazy too... they all have kids, and I think they think I don't know what it is like, and I will change my mind.;-)

You should see their reactions when I talk about adoptive breastfeeding....

Luckily I am part of an attachment parenting playgroup that has several cloth diapering moms. But aside from that group I don't know anyone else who cloth diapers. All of my husbands family thought I was crazy when I told them I planned on cloth diapering. And they thought I was even crazier when I said I would be washing them myself and not using a service. One of the main draws to cloth for me was saving money and using a service would have cut into that cost savings.

Oh well they think lots of the things I do are wierd like breastfeeding my DD until she was 22 months old and I was 7 months pregnant.

Thanks for posting this. I did not realize that the creator of FBs really is the "mother of eden"!

My college roommate is an OB in Cleveland, I should send her this article.

thank you so much for this link!!!! My DH is a Canton boy & reads the Plain Dealer online daily...I am going to use this as further ammo for *trying* to get him on board with CDing.

You're welcome Steph!
My DH thought I was extremist, my IL's laughed at me....but we are still in CD at nine months. :)
Makes me feel better and not so alone that I have friends online that their DC's are in CDs.
Oh and I won DH over by explaining cost benefits to him, which is very important to him. ;) Plus I BF so that made things even cheaper.
So fun that your DH is from Canton!! DH and I are through there all the time for his DJ business.

Love him but my DH is truly a PIA when it comes to CDing! In fact I'm going to start another post with an article he fired back at me.....ugh!

I wish I could say I've saved money but I don't think I have w/all the cute diapers I've been lured to try! Maybe if I stuck to the basics of prefolds/covers I could have saved money :)

I can't say I love Canton - visit when I have to but that is about it! My brother is still up in Cleveland area (Akron) & DH's family so we get up there every so often.
