Stretch it out. Stretch it as far as you can several times before you use it. (Hold the center and stretch one leg at a time, though.)

Once it's stretched out & looser, put it on by first folding the diaper around the baby. Then you hook the Snappi in the fabric just inside one hip, where it overlaps; then stretch it over & do the same on the other side. (I usually refasten the first side then, so it sits better.) Then stretch the third, shorter, side down to hook the fabric toward the crotch, to hold it all steady.

Bondage and babies are two words that I never want to see used in the same sentence EVER again, ya' heard???!! I will have nightmares about this, I really will....I may never use a Snappi again. We only use them rarely so not a big loss...we are not big into prefolds around here.

As for getting the Snappi to work the previous poster is right on the money...so much nicer than pins and many fewer messes than the trifold+cover setup.

LOL Katie! Kaya loves playing with her snappi's; so much so that I removed the plastic part in one of them so that she could play with it without fear of choking!

Snappi's have definitely made our life with PFs easier. I remember it taking some practice in the early days. We figured out that being able to fasten the left side, then the right side, and then being able to adjust the left side if needed makes it nice and tight.

Oh I love Snappis...just get ill with the thought of infant "bondage". Ahhhhhgggggg....

I really wish I had discovered Snappis sooner- would have used more pre-folds!

Forrest also loves the snappi. When he is being particularly difficult about a change, I hand him one, and say "Here, play with the snappi, its fun and poky" And he just giggles and starts poking the claws with his pudgy fingers. Shouldn't have admitted that, I suppose, but its very cute.

LOL, I do that too. Unfortunately, Kaya also loves playing with chopsticks, drum sticks, pens, and all sorts of other pointy objects. What is it about dangerous objects that attract babies?

One good thing--she's discovered that a toddler fork (somewhat pointy but far safer) can be used to getting food into her mouth. If I stab some food with it, she can actually get the food into her mouth with the fork. She's still working on stabbing the food herself, though. She had me laughing today when she grabbed some food with one hand, tried putting it on the fork, and then sort of gave up and shoved the food in her mouth. Then she handed me the fork to get some food on it for her. :)
