I got the night dipe. Did anyone notice the totals were wonky?

Nora

I got a SN also - actually 2 - 1 small and 1 large. My totals were fine?

Just curious if you all got the doublers? Which ones? Sherpa or terry? I went with sherpa just since I do not have anything "diaper" in sherpa! >shaking head and rolling eyes<

Also in the description it says: "Simply Night Diapers have two full body layers of absorbent hemp, lined completely in microfleece or suedecloth..." And then I didn't see anywhere where you actually picked your choice of either mf or suedecloth?? Did I miss it? I guess I can just email her after I get my confirmation.

Personally, I'm pretty PO'd at VB and I'm not sure if I'll order from them again. My order for 3 simply nights was placed over 4 weeks ago. When I asked for an update on my order she said her grandmother sews the diapers so she has no way of knowing what is going on. WTF? Can you not call or email your grandmother and ask her for an update? Then at the end of her email she said, "our turnaround time is 3-4 weeks anyway". Umm, I know that already. That is why I sent an email asking for an update after 4 weeks had passed. I got pretty bad vibes from her email. It was short and blunt, completly unhelpful and she didn't offer any kind of update, even though it plainly states on her website that you can email her for order information. And the inquiry email I had sent her was very polite. I'm giving her a few more days and if I don't get my diapers I'm asking for a refund. Quite frankly I spent a lot of money on these diapers and I expected better customer service.

I got 2 night dipes (side-snapping), hemp french terry soakers, one with a doubler. And yes, I noticed the totals were wonky. I e-mailed her about it and hope to hear from her.

Yup, she was fast too. She also said that the diapers are lined in microfleece not in suedecloth.

She's fixed the totals. I got a doubler with one of mine and went with the hemp terry. Oh, and in her e-mail to me she said that they are lined in mf, not suedecloth. I think she's fixed that on her site as well.

Angie,
I am sorry to hear you've had that experience with VB. I have always had excellent CS from Jessica. In fact, I stopped ordering from one of the contractors because she would never get back to me with email questions, etc. (and I like my VB from Jessica better than my others)
Anyway, that really stinks that you are having a hard time. I would email her again and let her know you'd like a better answer! I guess with everything going on with her and selling the store, etc...she doesn't have her whole heart in it. I do know that my orders have always taken the whole 4 weeks. I think they are worth the wait, hope you get yours soon.

Especially since she opened for orders again, I'd be wanting to know where my order is, YK??

ANyone know about the sizing? I really want to try night dipes since I don't love my nightlites from FM but I hate when there's only a weight guideline. Also, the stats for the Med and M/L are the same - I assume the m/l have a higher rise? FWIW, C is in a M/l Elbee perfectly (med fits but getting short), fits great in a size 1 s/s and size 2 f/s from Fluffymail (I get the LC and FCB mixed up!). Trying to decide b/w a m/l and large.

That's hard to predict...I would have gotten medium longs, but I borrowed Jonah's larges and they actually seem to fit Kaya on the second smallest snaps (so not even on the smallest). It may depend on their shape? I would e-mail her about the rises because you're right, they're currently listed as a difference of 3 inches in the rise. Oh, and FWIW, Kaya is only 18/19 pounds and she fits the large, but she's always been able to wear diapers that are larger than her weight would predict.

Oh, and if it makes a difference, we got side snapping diapers.

Thanks - I e-mailed and am waiting to hear back. I wish all the sites would put actual inches measurements - makes it so much easier! What other dipes is Kaya wearing these days? My stash is pretty "loyalist" so I don't have a huge variety ;) He's perfectly in M/L ElBee's, M angelwraps AIO's (these might be getting a touch short), outgrowing firefly med's. My nightlites (which I'm hoping these can replace) are s/s size 1 and f/s size 2.

Sugar peas size 1 front snapping seem too short in the rise for her these days. The sidesnapping mediums seem to fit better, although they seem very small. I haven't tried the Elbees yet, but I ordered the M/L. She's wearing a large in Tykies, M in angelwraps, large in the apronstrings fleece pockets, large in the Snapping Turtles fleece pockets, and large in the SEZ. I suppose it's possible she'd be able to fit the medium longs in the VBs, but since I already know the large ones fit her and not even on the tightest setting, I decided to go with the larges.

Did you ever hear from them? I ordered 2 of the SN's just to reserve a spot and e-mailed a question regarding sizing to her (since the size chart is so vague). I have yet to hear back and have e-mailed again to make sure she got the original. Nothing. I know she is super busy, but I cannot buy these dipes w/o a more accurate read on sizing! I'm getting a bad taste in my mouth here and am SERIOUSLY considering cancelling my order! I e-mailed a contractor about the SN's and she got back to me within hours and has offered to make some right away. Sorry for the rant - just wondering whether you ever heard back from her?

From when she first introduced the simply nights :( I sent her an email about a week ago & she emailed me a phone # to call???? - I haven't called yet - heck, it's her company - I think she should do the calling.

Usually I've had excellent service so I'm at a loss right now.

"I haven't called yet - heck, it's her company - I think she should do the calling"

My thoughts exactly, hence why I haven't tried to figure out a phone #, but may need to if e-mail gets no response and I decide to cancel the order. I'll give it through the weekend, though with the holiday it's unlikely I'll hear back. Grrrr...

Just wondering if your issues had been fixed. Gracie ran off with the diaper, so I haven't had the chance to inspect it yet. It came with what I think is a wipe (palm-sized). I'm impressed with the turnaround; I just hope I don't have one of yours! :)

I emailed Jessica back & asked if she could call. She promptly apologized for not offering to do so originally and apparently she's having a rough time w/morning sickness.

My diaper order got lost in the paypal shuffle -so her Grandmother is making a dipe for us ASAP :)

So a couple stupid ?'s. I got my sn's a couple days ago--very substantial diaper! Anyways, do I have to wash it "many" times? Can't remember if it has hemp in it? Don't think so. And does it need a cover? Looks like it does, but I never know anymore...
Thanks.

Simply Nights are hemp (hemp jersey and hemp french terry), so you'll need to wash/dry them a couple of times to get to their full absorbency. I usually only do it once before trying it though. ;) And yes, they need a cover. :)

OK, thanks! I guess I do not have any hemp like these--it doesn't look "hempy" at all--at least not yet! See what happends when I come over here - I order dipes and do not even know what they are made of!

mudder17

LOL, I know how that goes. :) Oh, and FWIW, I did use the SN without a cover a couple times successfully. I just put her in a long t-shirt inside of a fleece sleep sack OR a fleece onesie inside of a cotton sleep sack and it worked out just fine. It was an experiment for me to see if it would work and lo and behold--no leaks. I can't do it during the summer, though, because a fleece sleep sack or onesie is too warm for her then. But right now it's kind of neat to not have to put a bulky aristocrat on top of a large diaper.
