Finally got around to buying a Benjamuffin for overnight. Now I want an Aristocrat to put over it. None of my usual favorite diaper stores seem to carry them. Where would you recommmend? Where has the best price?

I got my first one at http://www.granolamoms.com/products.htm. I think her prices are pretty decent. Naturalbabies doesn't carry the Aristocrat, but she does carry something similar although she's currently out of the large ones. But you could e-mail her and ask if she has one available. The Whole Family Market (http://www.wholefamilymarket.com/Aristocrats-Wool-Diaper-Cover-p-39.html) also sells them for a very good price, although I'm not sure what shipping costs are. If you want, I can do a search later through my bookmarked diaper pages and see if I can find other sources. But hopefully you'll find one at one of these places.

I bought mine at Kelly's Closet...she has free shipping on all orders and is super fast. www.kellyscloset.com

If you use Kelly's Closet, she has a $5 off $25 coupon in Mothering magazine. It might also be on the front page at MDC or somewhere on the site. It was something like Spring5... I've never ordered from her--I think I remember some people here having problems with their orders? I could be confusing retailers though--you can do a search if you're concerned.

I like Bryana at Soft Cloth Bunz. She's always had great customer service. She has reasonable shipping rates too, but not free (unless you spend over $150). Sometimes her stuff with shipping is still less than other places with free shipping. http://www.softclothbunz.com/index.asp?PageAction=PRODSEARCH&txtSearch=aristocrat&Page=1

I like Kelly's Closet too but I ordered my Aristocrat from www.nopins4baby.com . Dina sent me an update very quickly and the cover arrived with lightning fast speed. I also like the little video she has on her site of a local news channel coming to her house to investigate cloth diapers. It's so cool to see where she has all the inventory, etc. I'm a nerd. :-)

Hee, hee, I must be a nerd too, because I enjoy those things, too. Hey, how's the diaper investigations going? Have you decided on your favorites yet? :P

The diaper investigations are ongoing, although not as thorough as I would've liked at this point (meaning we haven't switched full time yet). I've done three day spurts here and there, and we've been kind of thwarted in our efforts by three sicknesses (all mine and Tony's, thank goodness!) and now our vacation starting Sunday. I am just not bold enough to go sposie-free for my first trip to Disney with Meredith. My plan is to get back into CDing in earnest once we get back.

With that said, I do have a few favorites so far. I LOVE the Very Baby AIOs and know that these would come in handy for outings. I also still love the look of the Firefly and the Tots Bots pastel, though I haven't really broken either of those in yet. At least I think that's what's happening, since we seem to have leaks A LOT. Not as in I'm waiting too long to change, as in the second the pee comes there's a leak. I was discouraged at first, but I have heard that it can be hard finding what works and it can be overwhelming when you're just trying out one or two kinds of diapers. I've been using a different system at every change, so it's probably no wonder that I have moments where I want the simplicity of Cruisers. But, if I figure out what works, I can strive for simplicity with cloth too! The laundry issue makes it a little hard for me too, though I know that there are others on this board who have a much more difficult situation (i.e. laundromats, not just shared laundry in an apt building). I know I wouldn't give the laundry a second thought if it were right here in the apt.

Still, I am nevertheless feeling quite committed to going whole hog after the vacation! My main lapse was when I got sick and my husband had to take over all baby duties (except nursing, LOL) for 2 days (a first) and I felt like "why do I want to make life more complicated?" I was running a 103 fever at the time, though. :-) ha ha

Sorry to hijack the thread!

Hugs on the illnesses! Even if it wasn't your DD, illnesses are still terribly annoying and inconvenient, to put it mildly! I hope you're feeling better and that you all have a great time at Disney. We're all going on vacation to FL starting Wednesday, but we have laundry facilities, so we're taking the CDs as usual.

Definitely wait on getting back from vacation, though, since it doesn't look like you've found your system yet. It's taken us awhile, but I think we've found a good traveling system. We'll be testing it next week. :) And yes, you CAN simplify cloth, I'm just not quite there yet :P--I'm in the process of selling off stuff right now that I tend to reach for last. Hopefully that will simplify things a little.

Have a great vacation. We'll see you when you get back!
