View Full Version : Comparable to Sugarpeas?

I love how Sugarpeas fit on DS, but I wish they had a fleece inside and PUL or other waterproof outside...the rest is perfect.

Is there a CD out there comparable to SPs in size and shape?

If I was to trace one and make my own version, are there places I could send the dipes to to get snaps put in?

TIA!

Are you talking about side-snapping or two size SPs?

Side-snapping - the elastic around DS's sausage thighs is perfect, all the other CDs I have for him gape at the waist, and the FBs I have aren't very trim because the waist is snapped at the tightest setting and the legs at the second loosest (I would go with the loosest, but then they get all stretched out).

Fleece inside and PUL outside? So you want an AIO or pocket? Try Mudpiebabies (PM me, I might be able to help you ;) ), Snap-EZ or Lucy's Hope Chest.

I checked those out - thanks for the suggestions - but they don't look like they're cut the same way as the SPs...

I think it's the lack of elastic in front that makes the SPs so perfect for DS. When there is elastic, we get a big gaping hole since the legs don't need to be snapped as tightly as the waist does, so the elastic at the waist doesn't get stretched at all...

I'm glad I love using CDs :) I can't wait until it's summer and warm out, so we don't have to put pants over all his cute ones! :)

what about adding fleece and PUL to your SPs? i just added a fleece layer to the doubler in my size 1 SP b/c it was a gift from someone who doesn't know about dipes. (typing 1 hand or might add more thoughts)

I thought sugar peas also came with fleece-topped doublers, or did you want all fleece inside?

It's funny you mention it, but I can't think of any other diapers, AIOS, that are side-snapping with no front elastic, but I'll keep thinknig about it.

Sugarbums can be made with a flat front, I guess like the sugarpeas. The Sugarbums also come in a french cut version which is GREAT for chunky thighs. She offers an AIO, so that would have PUL outside, and I bet she'd line it in fleece for you. The only thing about them compared to the sugarpeas is they aren't nearly as trim. I love littleman's french cut print fitted from Sugarbums!

me again with 2 free hands this time...

i bet if you made your own you could send them to wendi at the babyblanket for snaps. she is closed right now, but maybe once you have them made, she would be open again?

if i get a snap press (thinking about it...) i will do it for you.

Oh - Get a Snap Press!!! I looked into it, and would love to have one, but it's just not in the budget. I'm also in the market for a used serger, but gosh aren't those expensive. I wish there was a serger foot or something for a regular sewing machine out there, that I could afford :)

They are currently closed for custom orders :(

I'm going to have to get cracking on copying some Sugarpeas to suit...

i have to sell a few things to pay for a snap press, which means i would have to find time to sew something! BUT i did email wendi- she would put snaps on for you and i am sure she would come up with a reasonable price. she is so super!!
