Okay, I think I mentioned before that Kaya likes to play with my (2+ years old) box of tampons. I haven't used them since before I was pregnant, so the old box was tucked in the back of a cabinet that recently became Kaya's toy cabinet in the bathroom. Basically it's full of things that I don't mind her playing with, including this old box of tampons. Well, she started ripping the packaging open, so I just opened them all up, got rid of the insides and rinsed out the plastic pieces and put them in a pouch. She is totally fascinated by these things and the funny thing is that recently she started taking them out to play with and then putting them back in the pouch when she finished.

One of the things she enjoys doing with these things (and pens and other similar fascinating objects) is that she'll try to carry as many of them as she can and still move around. So she'll pick them up with her left hand, put them in her right, pick up more and put it in her right until her right hand is full. Then she'll pick up as many as she can with her left. Then she'll try crawling. :) Well, today, she managed to get two in each hand and there was one more on the ground. She tried to pick them up with her left hand, but kept dropping one. Finally, she just looked at the lone one sitting on the ground, bent over and picked it up with her mouth. LOL!

Here's a picture I thought you'd enjoy:

And to keep it diaper related, Rashi, here's a picture of Kaya with a large wool stretch stacinator over a bijou baby gear fitted. It's a tiny bit baggy, but it works pretty well:

Lol, my dh has bike shorts that have that gel stuff in them. They look so comfortable. I was trying to think of what I could use them for. ;o

Thanks, ladies! The socks are Le Trumpette Mary Jane socks, which are a great way to jazz up your babe's outfit when they're not wearing shoes yet. :) Kaya will probably spend most of the summer in her diaper/cover + nice shirt or dress. It's so much easier than pulling pants on and off!

And I don't have a gel pack in my biker shorts, but there is definitely some padding and it makes ALL the difference (but maybe part of that was the freshies? :D)!

Well one Friday (busy golf day of course it had to be on this day)...I look out the window to see one of my dogs playing with a huge economy size tampon box for all to see!!!!!!!!...who knows how long he had it out there...but he was having a grande ol time flipping it up in the air for everyone to see....

TOO FUNNY!
I've always used cloth, but with AF returning after dd2's birth, my oldest is very curious. I've found her putting cloth in her pants!

Your dd is beautiful!

That's a blackmail pic if I've ever seen one...she is adorable, and that picture is priceless!!

How many lbs. is Kaya? I'm just debating whether a large or a medium stacinator is the way to go for my 22.5 lb Logan man ;)

Hee, hee, I never thought of it as blackmail, but I guess it would be for a teenage girl, LOL!

Kaya is 19.5 pounds right now. The large does actually fit her, but it's slightly loose around her legs, depending on which diaper she has on. Does Logan have thin or chunky thighs? I think that would be a big determining factor for me.

It isn't hard to embarrass a teenager ;) It is quite a funny pic!

Logan's thighs never strike me as particularly thin or chunky to be honest. I suppose average. If Kaya is 19.5 lbs and Logan is 22.5, maybe the large will work on him. Thanks for the reference point :)

I only have one fitted (a sugarpeas), so i'll probably be using mostly snappied CPFs with the Stacinator. That's my plan as of now at least ;) I'd like to buy some more fitteds but I have a huge stack of CPFs that I might as well use I suppose. I guess the pre folds would take up more room than a fitted, so maybe it will work...

I emailed Trish to see if she has any advice for me. I hate when Logan is in between sizes...the guessing game is a pain in the cloth diaper booty ;)

I'm totally with you on the sizing! Kaya has been in between sizes forever! I think it's because she has chunkier thighs, but is otherwise pretty small.

I tried the snappi'ed Premium prefolds with doubler today with both the stacinator (large) and angeldry (medium) and both worked great! It's the first time she has looked small in her prefolds. Definitely trim. And as I mentioned before--the stacinator is a little baggy, but it doesn't look saggy, if that makes any sense.

That sounds great! Thanks for the info, Eileen. I don't mind if they are baggy really. I imagine in the summer he'll want to run around in just a dipe and tee shirt much of the time anyway so I don't really have to stuff his whole CD bootie into clothes anyway, so a little baggy just means some extra growing room :)

I just heard from a MDC mama about some varigated orange shorts for DS that she's selling me. I think they are knitwitz. I'm so so excited for him to try out the little shorts we have coming :)

Anyway, thanks for the report on how the stacinator worked with the prefold :)

Kaya is a cutie pie - hm, tampons? maybe playing with those will bribe Griffin into not screaming during diaper changes!
