Okay, so I went ahead and ordered the Green WIO with the white embroidered flowers and Lisa wrote back to me with the question, "Just to make sure, before I order the wool, did you want the light green, the yellow or what?" Then she added, "Oh wait a minute, now I see that you wanted the dark green that's like grass." (The reason she did this was because I had asked her about the monkey covers which are on the yellow or green, and then said I liked the green on the flower one.) Anyway, she said she would wait until I wrote back. So I wrote back and said I loved the color of the green. But then I said, "But DH and I really LOVE purple. Do you have any purple wool?"

She wrote back and said, "OK, I have purple wool all washed and ready to go, I have pruple flowers for the outside, I have CUTE purple flowered fabric to top the soaker!!! does that sound good? the only thing I don't have (which I could pick up...) is purple thread for serging. I have Ivory, if you like that idea. If you'd rather have purple let me know." So I asked her which one she thought would look better and if the purple flowers and purple were different in color.

She replied, "yes, the wool is deeper purple, the flowers are lighter purple with ivory and green leaves. they will stand out wonderfully. i am crossed about the serging. I tend to like serging colors that match the wool, but because the flower strand has ivory, it would tie the ivory in. hmmmmm??? what do you think?

So what do you all think? I think I do prefer the serging colors to match the wool, but do you think ivory might look better?

Thanks for your opinions!

I would do serging to match the wool so the design stands out and not the serging.

I agree, but I'm going to check out the site to look for examples. :)
Ok, after looking I'd still go w/the matching serging.

Thanks, Anna & Trish. That was sort of my feeling too. I've sent her e-mail and will show you all the finished product when it comes.

Now Green would be much better than Ivory. I never thought of that! Hmm...more things to think about.

I'm with you on that one. Rashmi is always so creative, I know I can always rely on her for something inventive and cool! :P I e-mailed Lisa and she said she'll get back to me about whether the greens would be a nice match.

This is really fun. I've never done a true custom order where I get to choose everything. :)

I actually really like my covers that have contrasting serging. I think it makes the design on the butt "pop." Can she send you a picture of the embroider? Whatever color thread you do decide to do for the serging I would recommend getting snaps that match it too.
