I ordered some mama cloth from Shandelle and I absolutely love it. I ordered a bunch of underpants-liners :) I got velour, organic velour and a flannel. This is the first AF that I have used the diva and the mama cloth and I keep asking myself why I haven't done this sooner. I had absolutely no cramps at all and this is just the best thing :) I can't wait to get more sometime :)

Thank you for humoring the insane. ;)

Aren't they the best?

Aren't they awesome? I am so sad that when I did snag a custom slot with Shandelle, I was on a severely restricted budget and couldn't get everything I would have liked to. And she'll be well into hyena territory (if she isn't already there) before I'm in any shape to get more.

Mama cloth rocks!

I'm so glad you like them! It's so funny how many of us were so hesitant to try cloth, but when we did it was like "WOW!!! What a huge difference!"

Shandelle - you are definitely making a lot of converts with the awesome mama cloth you sew :) Still loving mine!

Yes! Shandelle's pads/liners are absolutely wonderful! Her velour postpartum pads are a life saver. They're so soft and comfortable for my second degree tear and sore butt (actually they're the only thing that doesn't hurt). Love love her work and customer service! I can't say enough good things about her!! :)

Really? Postpartum pads? I had thought about them but figured I wouldn't want to deal with the hassle. Are they really worth it? Sigh. My DH calls my underpant liners granola pants. ;)

Congratulations on Nolan! I hope your tear heals quickly. I hope to VBAC with the boy and the thought of stitches ANYWHERE gives me the willies, so stitches there are especially frightening...

Anna, I had a ton of stitches (so many that the Dr. lost count!) after my delivery because of horrible tearing. But he sewed me up when the epidural was still working, so I didn't feel much more than pressure (thank goodness) and they healed up extremely well. The doc told me several times that tears there (and stitches) heal up beautifully, usually. I've had stitches on my hand before, I think the PP stitches healed up much better and faster.

Thanks Anna :)

I didn't think I'd need pp cloth pads before having the baby either. This may be my last baby, plus I didn't think I'd have the energy to deal with the laundry and stuff. However, the paper pads were just too rough (they were ok when I was in the hospital, taking Tylenol three). I also tried some hemp pads, but nothing compares to the velour pads and liners I got from Shandell. My tear and bottom are so sore that I have to sit on Maya's potty ring while sitting up (sorry if TMI). Maybe I have a low pain threshold, but the velour topped pads help tremendously! Shandelle made the pp pads for me after I wrote to her about the pain. She shipped them out in 2 days! I figured I can still use the pads after AF returns, so the money is still well spent.

The washing is very easy, since we CD and I usually do laundry everyday, so there isn't extra work.

Today is the 11th day pp and I already feel a lot better. Don't let my experience scares you though. The recovery is pretty fast, just like Eileen said :) You feel a little stronger every day.

I love my cloth pads, too. I have one from Shandelle and a bunch I whipped up(not as nice as hers, though) and I use them with my Diva cup. I no longer have cramps either. It's so weird, but something about the diva deters the cramps.
